Sarah Dewey’s students exercised their creativity to create responses to the impacts of the transcontinental railway on various aspects of Canadian history. Through artwork, songs, and poetry students explored the ways that the railroad both united and divided Canada. Le projet se veut une exploration du rôle des Noirs dans l'édification du Canada et de leurs rôles comme membres de la tapisserie culturelle que représente notre pays. Les élèves ont fait une enquête sur l'immigration des Noirs au temps des explorateurs et de la colonisation jusqu'à nos jours. Ils ont fait des recherches sur des personnages ayant foulé le sol canadien tel que Mathieu Da Costa, Olivier le Jeune, Harriet Tubman et Jean Augustine. Ils ont traduit l'information sous forme de saynètes, de poésies, de danses et de tableaux d'arts qu'ils ont par la suite, présentés à la communauté scolaire.

Michael Pitblado and Agnieszka Chalas’ “Banksy Project” invited students to use artwork and the format of Banksy’s art pieces to raise awareness about some of the issues that affect Indigenous peoples. The pieces were displayed in public areas around the community, as well as in exhibitions at multiple art galleries.
