Donna checked in today and Caddy lost a stitch
07/30/20 • 55 min
Stacey has the intro. She has been a huge supporter since day one and, fun fact, her first concert (Hank, JR) came from tickets she won from Kicks at a Mrs. Winner’s Chicken & Biscuits. We are so grateful to have her support AND her intro.
Do you have trouble finding or taking pictures of the whole family? You’re not alone. To solve the problem, Donna has taken to timehopping.
Caddy drove to the studio in silence today. He also had to take a second shower. To say it’s been a stressful morning would be an understatement.
The run of show was 22 pages long today. Still, Donna thinks there is a lot missing. So the middle section of today’s show is a shotgun round of what’s been in the news for music this week.
If you’re listening on upload date, it has been 8 days since Caddy’s teeth came out. That means it is time for the Teeth Discussion. Caddy gives his perspective from the past couple days. Donna follows it up with a quick realty check of how things have REALLY been.
It would be hard for anyone to say that they’re not struggling right now. Remember to check in with those around you and offer some support when you can. Caddy and Donna touch on the subject, addressing some recent headlines that are a bit concerning. At the same time, now is a great chance to extend a hand and show compassion.
Caddy has been spending a lot of time with Officer Ritchie of the Alpharetta Police Department in preparation of their new show “Caddy Wagon.” While going on the ride-alongs, he has noticed a rising trend of certain emergency calls. The end of the show touches on this new trend and some of the implications.
Lastly, Caddy gets some sympathy texts. Send him one. 7704646024.

Business on top, party down below.
Bill Gentry has the intro on today’s show. Caddy and Donna could have a whole month of episodes about Bill. He’s always been in music. He’s always been around. He has always had a certain air about him. He has always had a Wild history and we are thrilled to have him dial in today's Second Act.
“I’m Donna Choate and men are babies.” With that intro, the stage is set for today’s show. Caddy and Donna are a bit traumatized from the recent surgery but not in the ways you’d expect.
A lot of the early show is dedicated to Keith Urban and his new project. It’s coming out mid-September as a delayed release, just as so much music has been these past few months. Keith is framing it as a good thing; he’s been able to add a few new songs. Caddy and Donna are not so sure. Keith is one of those people who does not shy away from his challenges. Caddy and Donna have interacted with him a few different times over the years, noticing changes every time. The show covers some of the traits of addiction, meditation and openness. Caddy shares a couple stories with Keith, including one segment about Things You Don’t Know About Your Spouse.
Has a guidance counselor ever broken your trust? #FakeHomeSchoolFacts has been trending on Twitter and the show has some stories from it. Turns out scheduling is not the only worry coming from this year’s school year. Can you imagine the school supplies lists? How do you play a clarinet without reeds? (Actually, just ask Will about that one...)
How many attorneys appear unprofessionally on Zoom court appearances? According to one Florida circuit judge, that answer is “a lot.” We understand the “business on the top, party on the bottom” approach, but apparently some lawyers need to be reminded to wear a shirt at all. That example seems excessive, but Donna does thinks that there is just a general sloppiness and pegs the reason as everyone “living casually.” Everyone seems to be a fan, though, except the employers.
Caddy and Donna have some very exciting news. They intro them on today’s show but here's a hint: new shows.

Cheat Day
Jody Jackson has the intro today and there is no shortage of great JJ stories. He was a promotions director for Y106 and basically started March Across Georgia. Jody went to school with Donna (along with Julia Roberts) and now every time he calls, the Choates go crazy. He’s on another level of hard work. He lived on the road with T Graham Brown and helped Gov. Deal. Nowadays he’s running the John Jarrard Foundation with Bruce Birch, working with amazing songwriters and giving money to a lot of North Georgia charities. He’s so much fun, a very hard worker and we’re so glad to have his intro today!
Donna is not getting a Peloton. Instead, she is staring at trainers and buying (more) kitty litter.
Garth Brooks called a press conference this week with country (and general) media across the country. He has announced that he is stepping away from a few Country highlights. On an unrelated note, he’s also opening a new bar. The question is: will Caddy also be removing himself from the ballot for Country’s Entertainer of the Year? Donna talks about how the award is really for those who are pushing Country music forward. The real Country vanguard. So, the jury is still out for Caddy.
Donna has always wanted a water feature as part of the Choate household. Caddy has been making some calls and it looks like her wish is going to come true. Sorta. That conversation follows an update on the sprinkle debacle we heard about last show.
The show takes a serious note as Caddy and Donna continue their reflection on the passing of Rep. John Lewis. It is clear that those who have stories to tell about the social justice icon have only beautiful stories to tell.
The most lucrative deal in sports just came through. Let’s just say that Donna is about to be a Kansas City fan.
Caddy has never seen Donna hold a set of clubs. Donna tells Caddy she’s looking at the pro circuit. Where’s the disconnect here? Call the show and let us know.
Subscribe to the new shows Hustle and Caddy Wagon so you don’t miss a thing. When you’re done, text caddy about it. 7704646024.
