Top 5 Coversodes of 2022. #5 is Coversode #20 "I Can Tell You What My Grandma Would Say" it's with the amazing and fabulous Kelsie Nabass. Kelsie is such a phenomenal person and we were so lucky to land her as a guest and she has such a friggin amazing story. But one of the things that happens in the podcast, I'm sure you guys know this already if you're a listener is that we tend to drink. We drink wine, we drink we shots. Sometimes we mix cocktails, and this particular episode ended up being a two-parter and it went over two hours. And you can hear yours truly here start to get heavily intoxicated, so much so that I actually started to call Kelsie something other than what is her actual name, and I didn't catch it and then once I caught it, I couldn't stop doing it LOL. So as you get into as you get into this episode, listen, listen closely, you'll start to hear it happen. And she was such a great sport about it. She's kind of let it go. But it's one of those things. It's behind the scenes that we just kind of ignore and we don't tell people about it. So get into #5 Coversode with Kelsie Nabbas. Enjoy!!!

Hours and days collide as we greet our latest guest to this Coversode. Alexa Fischer brings her radiating sense of purpose and delight in people to our fangirling session. Let the games commence. She discusses her East coast business mixed with West coast Cali vibrations. There’s always elements of full truth in origin. Discovery seeds of high school acting can get you to a keen sense of purpose, fascination with stories by the way pertaining to Humans of New York draws to walking in others shoes. Energy and vibes merged with drive bleeds sparks of creativity. We find out slaps can be linchpin guides toward happiness, striking relational understanding is best served with self love initially above all else, and it’s in these moments that compassion and curiosity blow doors open. Her chapters just keep unfolding, the wishwork starts to unfurl itself when it’s needed most. Under the light of magic, we get “sciencey” behind intention within the connection between heart and mind. Tools of navigation lead to roads undiscovered. Her dreamscape powers may help with flying through the window of her soul. Check out more about her below:

We allow echoes to abound, consult cliff notes for help, and learn partners will sell you out in this Coversode. That’s the way we step into this mystery with evil genius Jessica Payne. She begins in the rolling hills of Kansas before foraging the wilderness of California with a backpack full of her belongings, psych degree, and student loans. She discovers her reset and takes a pivot toward her passion. It becomes obvious normal is only a mask people think they should wear, and once again COVID’s harshness brings about productive musings. We get into her twisty-turny ways of bringing out her creative brilliance, unplanned weirdness is us...she encourages while we cringe at the thought of being out there. The surreal creeps in as realization hits, the dream is real. Pursuits of passion are key to how we should live life. She puts us on the spot, we wilt under the pressure. Book titles be damned!!!! Her Coversode closes as she steals our murdery hearts with her kind of nerding. Warnings of what's to come with this Killersode. Ice drops outs the door and through our veins as we get into the horrendous abuse story of the Turpin children. It all comes to light in the early morning hours of January 2018 day. Thirteen victims with parents who chose to turn from love to torture and lack of concern for life. Being locked away breeds joint suffering, which leads to where bravery finds the way to speak, and time allows the outside world to step in. How does the search for a life and justice reveal the cracks in the rescue? Into the world of CPS we dwell, and discover what we most suspect. When the tables turn, will there be responsibility on the powers that be? Innocents look to escape into a world to be seen, heard, and finally truly loved. Our tears fall and anger rises in us to ask more questions of how the system fails on the regular. Is it overload, malfeasance, or just plain disregard? Children truly are the future. Let's love them and give them the chance to lead the way. To find out more or if you know and suspect a case of child abuse click the links below:

In this week's Coversode, it's Creeper Cam and a couple. Tara Combs and Chris Kollar come to the cast and sit for some talk. The discussion opens from the beginnings, which is where it usually happens. There's a jump back onto the trail of youth and discovering games can be harbingers of disease knowledge. We look at whether qwerty keyboards or pagers ruined the world, and by extension college. Once again shout out to Tom!! Relationships of all types have a way of changing who we are, but bring with it balance. We apologize to Sasquatch for taking liberties with his social life. Our conversation turns to genealogy discovery and the serendipity of how small the world is. They discuss how codependency through covid can be greater than we realize, road trips are invigorating...and can a lead to bigger ideas.

Ahhh it's been a minute, yet the wait is always worth it. Gracing us with his presence in this Coversode for a return engagement is Dave Orton, because 3rd is the charm. Sounds from the dungeon...all mid-cracker, requests go but not sure unheard. We're in new digs but with "old" friends. Straight out the gate we learn managers be managing by making mad scientist moves knowing how to make lightening in a bottle. As egos lay down, it's in the music Moonfever is born. As he talks, we discover honesty abounds within the writing process. He's sorry not sorry if you're listening you know. He's giving loving shout outs to all. At this point, names are getting epically screwed up...shots go down hard lol. Turns out eyes mean a lot to Dave too. Rabbit hole here we come...Sayonara Nike, Hello Nelly, Google still works...moon fever is not a disability. Age comes in to play, so the conversation turns to when do we lay down in our grave? Doing what brings us LIFE has no age stamp...massive blowout coming! FYI age and maturity are not mutually bonded. We peep into our collective souls in search of humanity. How and when do we decide to not hit send on our proverbial emotions yelp review? Patterns of growth ebb and flow, grace can come in doses greater than we imagine, opening eyes and ears allows the heart to truly see things. As always thanks to Max and The Chatter Network!!! This week we're bringing back an oldie but a goodie - our very entertaining interview with Chris Staudinger of @prettygrittytours. "Why?" you ask..... because he's back this week for our FIRST EVER Live-stream Killersode Evening on Saturday, Oct 15th at 6pm. Watch live on YouTube.
We finally get it right straight out the gate. We're kickin' it this week with Chris of Pretty Gritty Tours. He's starts with his nomadic origins. How should we maneuver life? Apparently through dad jokes. His journey heads out to sea, before he makes many a continental shift where he trades the lonely seas for romantic Mt. Kilimanjaro. Little foray in serial killer speak and he finds a wife - SHOUT OUT TO TAWNY!! We get philosophic about the grit Tacoma has to offer, no Seattle love in the moment. Taking a love of travel, history, and outstanding spunk a company is born. Turns out bringing history to life can get you the gig of a lifetime. Covid rears its ugly head and creates lonely spaces, but revamping can breed genius to make it through. The power to bring dreams to life can be a tour de force, plus you might have a whale of time in the process.

Top 5 Coversodes of 2022. #4 is Coversode #24 "My Art is My Activism" it's with the fiercely strong and compassionate Teme Wokoma. As stories go, she has bulldozed through life as a badass. This podcast always works to accommodate our guests and their time constraints. This week our guest took us for the time ride. Her story is so compelling, and could not be truncated. It was inspiring journey she took us on, so before you know it we were way beyond our allotted time. But her telling of her chapters required a measured rhythm only she could give it. We were happy to oblige, and go along for the hypnotic adventure. Join us for this re-listen with #4 Coversode of the year with Teme Wokoma!!!
