It’s not the right place right time kind of thing it's a you thing. It starts with you, you have to make the moves. It’s your responsibility to walk into a situation and take ahold of it. If you are in a room full of customers and they aren’t coming up to you, it’s up to you to go and talk to them first. You have to create your own opportunity.
Candace gives insight on one of her first lessons in owning a brick and mortar business. Her number one problem, in the beginning, was spending money in all the wrong places. She was Overspending on products (inventory) and then wasn’t pricing products correctly.
There are an art and science to business. There’s the “art” which is branding, the activity, and the customer service. Then the science is the money maker. How do we know what to make our prices? We tend to make the mistake of focusing on the art of business, the hardest part is the science. Strategy is a skill you MUST learn.
The 5 things to building your brand: Think about the five senses that people experience within your business and what you want those senses to be. Become observant of the things in your life and the brands that you use and think about what elements that they use that attracts you to their product.
Setting up your business to sell it. Building your business as an asset that has systems and process nailed down is critical to your team and self-care.

Living a life for someone else will cause you to lose yourself. You have to be selfish. We can not serve other people until we have served ourselves first. It’s as black and white as it can be. Be selfish and help yourself, then you can help the people around you.
We have to learn to set boundaries to become free from what is holding us back.
We think that building a life that we love is rooted in making more money, but it actually is rooted in being whole and true to yourself. Then after that comes making money - that’s when life gets more exciting.
Owning your story is owning your value. Once you can stand up and say, “ I have gone through some s**t and this is how I did it, now let me help you do the same” you start owning your value. Owning your story will give you the answers to the question we all ask ourselves, “Why me?” It makes you see your value in what you have accomplished. It shows you what really makes you unique. Remember, there will never be another you on this planet. Your story is unique to you and you only.
You can’t build a life when you are locked in a cage... the cage of fear. You can not grow without doing the things that scare you the most. Once you break free of those fears, you’re unstoppable.

Not everyone is going to understand you and your dreams. You have to learn to become comfortable with who you are and what you are doing is HUGE.
People will teach you to focus on what you want. But we have learned that just wanting somthing really doesn’t get you far. It definitely gets you started maybe, but 100% won’t make it to the finish line. It has to be driven by an emotional why. Why is it that you want to get to where you want to be? What is your emotional driving force? The “why” is your fuel to your fire.

Discipline discipline discipline! The name of the game is discipline. Ty talks about when he used to go to the library to use the computer with time restraints. He had to make himself FOCUS and not allow distractions to come and to take him away from his 20 minutes. Be intentional with your time. Don’t spend your time planning, spend your time, and DO the things. We can spend all the time in the world planning. But you gotta take that next step and DO THE DAMN THING.
There are three types of people. One, the person who asks how you did something and then once they find out how much work it will take say “Oh yeah, okay I will start making those changes” and then one year later are in the same place they were the previous year. Then you have the individual who had something traumatic happen in their lives or their back is pushed up against a wall and they truly want to know how to do it. They are the people who take the information, uses it, and implements it. Then there’s the person who is already successful and understands knowledge is power and wants to learn more. Really take a moment, and be honest with yourself, which one are you?
When you get comfortable and you are coasting, that is the most dangerous place to be. You always need to be thinking, great I made it to this place, now how do I get to the next level? Can the current version of yourself get you to that next level? If your answer is no then you have to take a moment and really not ask yourself “what are my weaknesses and what are my strengths?” No, you have to ask yourself, “where am I lacking discipline.” You need to make yourself disciplined in the areas that you have made negotiable.
