Lisa Goddard has been practicing meditation and yoga since 1999 and has been facilitating these practices since 2000.
Inspired by the teachings of Suzuki Roshi and Ajahn Chah, Lisa received training through Spirit Rock Meditation Center, Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, Zen Hospice Project and Mindful Schools. She is a Certified Mindfulness Facilitator through UCLA's Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior, and the International Mindfulness Teachers Association.

Martine Batchelor was born in France in 1953. She was ordained as a Buddhist nun in Korea in 1975. She studied Zen Buddhism under the guidance of the late Master Kusan at Songgwang Sa monastery until 1984. Following Master Kusan’s death she returned her nun’s vows and left Korea. She returned to Europe with her husband, Stephen, in 1985. She was a member of the Sharpham North Community in Devon, England for six years. She worked as a lecturer and spiritual counsellor both at Gaia House and elsewhere in Britain. She is the author of Meditation for Life, Let Go, and Women in Korean Zen (2007) and The Spirit of the Buddha (2010). With her husband she co-leads meditation retreats worldwide. They now live in France.

Shannon gets to sit down with Gary Sanders. A long time friend and shared training experience with Against the Stream, long before its demise. Gary Sanders lives in Portland, OR. He is originally from the Los Angeles area, where he was the founder of SCV Mindfulness and led up to three weekly meditation groups for over 5 years. He was empowered to lead Buddhist meditation and dharma groups at Against the Stream Buddhist Meditation Society. He helped, from the ground level, to found Refuge Recovery, a Buddhist based recovery program for all addictions, which has now spread worldwide. After moving to Portland, Gary was asked to join the teaching staff at Portland Insight Meditation Community. Gary travels frequently and teaches day-longs and workshops all over North America.
