Glad to be back at The Glad for the first time in quite a while! We welcomed Dutch Albion fan Jeroen Jansen to the pub to tell us how he came to be a Seagull, how to pronounce the names of our Dutch playing contingent, that Joel Veltman used to be his neighbour! and to talk about former Netherlands players at the club.

We also review the 2-3 League Cup defeat to Liverpool, getting The Anfield Wrap lads’ views on the game for good measure and look ahead to round two of this double header with Albion due at Anfield in The Prem this Saturday.

Stand or fall! UTA! Down with Southern Fail! Pogo!!!

Brighton Rock Podcast - “Whamageddon Outta Here!”. FFS Peter! West Ham (a) MDS
play

12/23/24 • 102 min

An array of Albionistas on board for the latest MDS, coming to you from in and around The London Taxpayers’ Arena, including Duncan Dunsmore-Rouse, Wedge, Andy Bass, FAB chairman Clive Steed, Mo, Pete, Courtney, Ian ‘from’ Portsmouth, Andy K, Duncan Lees and West Ham fan John.

The pod also began with a nice healthy rant about the FIFA mafia’s sham awarding of the 2034 World Cup tournament to civil rights champions, freedom of speech advocates and journalist lovers Saudi Arabia.

Stand or fall! UTA! FFS Peter!

Brighton Rock Podcast - The High-Line Derby Review with Matt Stelling
play

10/10/24 • 91 min

Sunday saw the very definition of ‘a game of two halves’ as Albion overturned a 0-2 deficit thanks to goals from an improving Minteh, Rutter like butter on mashed Spuds and record-chasing Wele,

Our latest pod debutante Matt Stelling was there to watch it and to then pop on the BRP to recount the happenings on the hallowed turf and to tell us of his Albion backstory.

Stand or fall! UTA! Spursytastic!

Brighton Rock Podcast - Worthing Special with Hayden & Pete
play

10/18/24 • 96 min

Pete and Russ welcomed Away Boys member Hayden Baker and club match commentator Peter Vale back on to give us their thoughts on all things Worthing FC: last season’s roller coaster of a season that included losing their manager and going all the way to the final of the play offs, only to be beaten in dramatic style; the major refurb of Woodside Road, the excellent and very touching new TNT Sports documentary featuring owner George Dowell about his challenging backstory and WFC’s promotion bid of last season; the new season to date including another decent cup run to the first round proper of The FA Cup; and the attractive 1st Rd draw at home to Morecambe FC; plus a bit of chat about Albion and about the appointment of Thomas Tuchel to the England hot seat!

Brighton Rock Podcast - “An Offensive Presence”. Leeds Review
play

11/30/21 • 86 min

Russ, Andy K, Richard and Pete in this week’s pod squad as the latest draw comes under the spotlight. A scintillating display by the lads on the pitch except in the vital category of finishing...a catalogue of scoring chances, three strikes of the ‘woodwork” and another clean sheet. However, ludicrously a muffled undercurrent of boos could be detected from some utter fools somewhere inside the ground and GP was understandable baffled and irritated. We discuss!!!
Also there’s a glance back at the weekend’s other action, loan watch and the Wet Sham preview.
Stand or fall! UTA! Down with ALL harmfully entitled idiots undermining our development under this great coach. Absolute fools, the lot of them! [Russ]

play

09/17/24 • 67 min

Pete and Russ looked back on a disappointing home draw with newboys Ipswich. It was a tight game with limited clear chances but could and should Albion have prevailed? Joining the debate in Part 2 we were delighted to welcome Joe Fairs from the @BlueMondayITFC podcast to debate the key points and find out what it’s been like on The Tractor Boys’ ride, rising rapidly to reach the top table over the past two years, thoughts on Kieran McKenna staying put, thoughts on Albion and the Premier League experience and how it’s changed since last time they were here.

Stand or fall! UTA! Interesting new record attendance!!! 👀 🤔 🧐
