This week we saved our first brother/sister interview for a Christmas release. Kim Cuellar and Eric Mathe join us to discuss business, entrepreneurship, leadership, fitness and retail. Plus we have a little bit of a sibling rivalry showing up in this episode.
Kim Cuellar is responsible for all the great local craft beer you see in OnCue stores now days. Her history and education has led to her becoming a true leader and pioneer in the retail industry. What she has done with local craft beer is unmatched in the Oklahoma c-store scene. She has been a great supporter of Skydance Brewing Co. and we see her as a true business partner. We can't wait to see what the future holds for Skydance in the growing OnCue landscape.
Kim's brother, Eric Mathe, is the president of Mathe Fitness Inc. Eric is also a co-owner and director of personal training at Inertia Fitness in Oklahoma City. I was very interested in hearing what Eric has dealt with as a business owner during the pandemic. For some time now, I've been very interested in how some companies have survived when the bulk of their business depends on close physical contact. I love to hear how Eric has pivoted and changed the way he does business.

This week we are speaking with my friend Bryce Thompson. Bryce is a pure entrepreneur at heart. He owns CORD Construction, which is the company we have hired to build the new Skydance Brewing facility. He is also a partner in the group that owns The Patriarch (a craft beer bar in Edmond, OK), 1884 at the Railyard (a restaurant with a craft beer focus in Edmond, OK) and Social Capital (a craft beer bar in downtown OKC.)
In our conversation we talk a lot about the mindset of being an entrepreneur and what business has been like during the pandemic. We also dive deep into what has made Bryce successful and how he plans to diversify into many different business ventures.

We met Vilona when we worked on a beer collaboration with rapper, Jabee, and one of Vilona's clients, Social Capital.
Vilona was a stay-at-home mom when an opportunity to become a marketing consultant turned her into an entrepreneur. Since then she has helped with social media and marketing campaigns for a variety of clients ranging from restaurants to business districts in the Oklahoma City area.
There are a lot of stay-at-home moms out there who may think their opportunity to be an entrepreneur is no longer a possibility. Vilona's story is a great inspiration for those moms.

In Episode 12 of Brewed with Hustle we spoke with leadership coach, Jay Sampson. I met Jay through a previous guest on BWH, Todd Vinson. Jay has worked with me recently to help me become a better leader for my business and family. Through his work with GIANT Worldwide, Jay has been helping others become liberating leaders.
We talked about the idea of "becoming a Sherpa" and why a Sherpa is the type of leader we should all strive to be like. Leading for others is at the heart of what Jay strives for as a leader and it's what he wants each of us to work towards.
Make sure you email Jay if you like what you hear in this episode and would like to work with him to improve the culture and leadership of your company, organization or even just for yourself at [email protected]
