Even in his sick bed, Charles Wesley was stirred by the voice of Jesus to believe and later to lift his pen and write the words of the hymn.
We need to realise that Jesus is Emmanuel, God with us. He is not distant, He is here and He is now. We just have to open our hearts and realise that it's true.
