In 2007, Rosie Stancer journeyed alone over the surface of the frozen Arctic Ocean for 84 days, travelling further than any previous attempts by women to reach the North Pole solo. She battled conditions now recognised as the worst on record resulting in frostbite and gangrene in the first week and leading her to amputate two of her toes with her Leatherman just so she could continue, for over another 400 nautical miles!
It’s no wonder then that Rosie started to truly appreciate the power of the mind, a message she intends to spread when speaking about the environment.
This is a jaw droppingly inspiring talk which paints both a beautiful and fragmented picture of planet earth...so grab your boots and join her on this thought-provoking adventure.

Blue Earth Podcast

Phil Young is the founder of outdoor lifestyle agency The Mighty Mighty. If you were around in the mid 90’s you might recognise his voice as the presenter of TV Show Board Stupid which was all about snowboarding. Why greenwashing is getting harder to spot - Joss Ford
Blue Earth Podcast
07/14/22 • 35 min
This week’s guest is Joss Ford, the founder of Enviral, a sustainability communications company and consultancy. Joss and his team help brands create, communicate and consult their social and environmental stories. He’s also a proud Blue Earth Summit Ambassador.
He tells host Laura Nesbitt that he believes big brands have the power to make mass change when it comes to sustainability. But he says businesses need to be open and transparent about their own failings too.
Joss talks passionately about how communication and marketing should be used as a tool to connect hearts and minds to a narrative that’s been heavily polluted and why he believes big business is the best vehicle to make mass change happen quickly.
