Stay Humble - Don't Be Humble

Growing up I was always confused when I heard the pastor talk about staying humble and striving to be all God created us to be. Seemed to be a contradiction. However, I have learned that staying humble doesn’t mean staying poor, weak, or meek. Actually, it has nothing to do with the amount of success or wealth one achieves, rather it has everything to do with modesty that comes from understanding our place in the larger order of things. Always knowing that no amount of success or riches could ever make us more or less than our fellow women and man.

So on the eighth day, God looked down and saw his planned paradise and said, I need a caretaker. So he made a farmer. God said, I need somebody willing to get up before Dawn milk, the cows work all day in the fields, milk the cows again, eat supper, then go to town and stay past midnight at a meeting at the school board.
