Ep. 28 - The Devil All The Time (2020) - Rapid Review
Blood, Sweat and Popcorn
09/19/20 • 6 min
Now out on Netflix, this film boasts an all star cast, including Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgård and Sebastian Shaw, that traverse the rough country life during the middle of the twentieth century. Crime, religion, passion and family move the characters around the board. This movie is heavy and packs a hefty punch. It is so tightly delivered though, you cannot look away.

Blood, Sweat and Popcorn
07/03/20 • 115 min
Are we fated to live a certain way? Can we ever do more for ourselves? The answers to these questions are explored in Bong Joon Ho's Parasite. This has become a new champion in the market of South Korean cinema. There are so many layers, both literally and figuratively, in this flick. It demands multiple viewings and challenges the audience to look at life through more empathetically.

Ep. 3 - Ted Lasso should be seen by everyone! (Guest - Nicole Rubin, MS, LPC)
Blood, Sweat and Popcorn
11/20/21 • 87 min
Are you ready to BELIEVE?! This week I talk about Ted Lasso, the incredible soccer drama on Apple TV, with the wonderful human and therapist Nicole Rubin. From cultural differences to mental health significance, Ted Lasso is undoubtedly one of the most important shows right now. There’s so much to unpack in only 2 short seasons, but we did our best!
You may not learn a lot about soccer from this episode (because we sure don’t know much about it either), but Nicole’s insight into the mental state of the characters is so dang interesting! And that is something everyone can appreciate!
Nicole Rubin, MS, LPC is a licensed therapist in the state of Georgia.

Spoiler free!!! It's finally here! The much anticipated sequel (prequel, actually) to the Friday the 13th fan film "Never Hike Alone" has arrived! This was so enjoyable. Great set pieces, performances, blood. It's everything you would want out of a Friday the 13th film. Check out my review, but more importantly, go see this film!
Ep. 29 - Enola Holmes (2020) - Rapid Review
Blood, Sweat and Popcorn
09/27/20 • 5 min
Millie Bobby Brown leads an amazing cast in this fun, inspired mystery adventure. Playing the younger sister of the famous detective, Brown's Enola Holmes is a true treat to watch. This is a perfect gateway movie for people knowing Brown only for her role in "Stranger Things" as she ascends into more mature -- but still entertaining -- territory.

Blood, Sweat and Popcorn
04/10/20 • 127 min
Science Fiction takes a gorgeous and interesting turn in this 2015 adventure starring Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum. Great visuals highlight this interesting take on destiny and purpose. My friend Lyndsi is my guest and she helps me breakdown the tropes and beats that make this fantasy sci-fi romp roll down the tracks. Also, who wouldn't want boots that could make you fly?
