Episode 302: Amar Singh v. Andy Elliott
Blocked Party
09/02/24 • 73 min
Amar Singh (comedian) makes his first appearance on the show to tell us about a time when self-help just went way, way too far and he had to do some blocking to take care of it. Amar is a comedian, but perhaps more importantly, he is John's former student. So we talk to Amar about being in John's class and getting John to book him his first stand-up gig, which has now led to a career in comedy, for better or worse. We also discuss Amar struggling to find a job due to AI, which of course leads Stefan to create some AI Yodas and also show us a nasty picture he found of a really big Nintendo fan. Plus, Amar also loves the sad cat videos we discussed with Libby Watson on our most recent bonus episode, and the Oasis reunion has us revisiting some of their funniest moments of the last decade including Liam Gallagher's meeting with Paul McCartney, his interview with a kindergarten class, and making their own tea.
If you want to hear some more tea, we're spilling it all over the place over at patreon.com/blockedparty! $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every damn month including the aforementioned Libby Watson episode that just came out last week, where John had to do the blocking due to an insane Jeopardy! fan. We also do ad-free episodes, have an exclusive Discord, and MORE!
And a reminder of BP Live! It's Top Three Weekend II with our friends at Not Even a Show and Guys, Bryan Quinby and Chris James! Live at Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret on October 11 and 12. Weekend passes are available now at bit.ly/top3weekend, and as announced on the show, individual show tickets will go on sale on 9/11 at 10 am PT. Don't miss out!
Amar Singh is a comedian whose first special, "Please Don't Kill Me", is available now on YouTube. You can also follow him on Instagram at @realexciting.

Episode 296: Howell Dawdy v. Eminem
Blocked Party
07/22/24 • 102 min
Howell Dawdy (musician) returns to the show with a familiar tale of getting banned from Twitter for too many DMCA strikes, but what isn't familiar is that many of those strikes came from one source: the rapper Eminem. Howell takes us down a road of terrible mashups and horrible parody songs as we discuss our new theme song, plastic straws, our favorite pies, and we learn about the guy who is in love with his car. Like, sexually. Plus, Howell introduces us to the social director of a Florida golf course, Sammy Hagar loves tornadoes, and a tattoo artist has a bizarre interaction with a potential customer.
If you want to hear more of our bizarre (but great!) interactions, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty and donate to the damn show! Just $5/month gets you THREE bonus episodes every month, including this week, as Racquel Belmonte makes her triumphant return to the show to celebrate our 50th mailbag with a full clean-out of our old, unanswered mailbag questions. There were so many that this is just Part 1! Speaking of old episodes, your donation immediately gets you our entire back catalogue of 150+ episodes, ad-free episodes, and more! So check it out!

It's only the second time ever that the BP Studios have been graced with two guests on one main episode, but it's a special occasion as we have Sarah Ramos (actor, filmmaker) and Caroline Goldfarb (comedian, writer) join us to tell us all about their new show, The Renner Files, and their block by the man who is famous for being friends with Kim Kardashian. It's a shameless Block Tale that will go down in the annals of show history as one of the best, and this episode is one of the best too, an "all-timer" in Stefan's words, as the Blocked Boys talk Peep This Out facemasks, getting old, and we learn more about how Stefan ended Jeremy Renner's vanity app. Plus, we get into the very upsetting RBG tributes, fizzy drinks, wet eggs in a bag, and Becca gets her very own theme song.
Speaking of theme songs, our bonus episodes have some pretty amazing ones, and you can hear them (and the episodes) at https://patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every month. Last week, we released our latest edition of Word Up! with Taylor Lorenz, where we delve into the world of TikTok Cameos, and this week, we have the continuation of our BPD&D series, as Branson Reese and Jamie Loftus join us for a wonderful adventure in a mythical city. Plus, that $5 gets you access to our top-secret Discord server, all of our back catalogue of bonus episodes, and celebrations next month for our 100th episode that you won't wanna miss.
Sarah Ramos is an actor and filmmaker who can be followed on Twitter at @SarahRamos and on Instagram at @SarahERamos. Caroline Goldfarb is a comedian and writer who you can find on Twitter at @hairoline and on Instagram at @OfficialSeanPenn. Episode 231: Sasha Mark v. A Grindr Guy
Blocked Party
04/24/23 • 86 min
Sasha Mark (comedian) joins the show for the first time to tell us about a Grindr match that he hooked up with pre-pandemic who went a little wild during COVID: anti-vax, anti-woke, etc...and then still wanted to hook up with Sasha again after blocking him on every social media app. It's a wild ride and a great Block Tale for Sasha's first appearance on BP. And that's not all the gay dating app stuff we get into, as Sasha takes us on a deep--and we mean DEEP--dive into the world of Sniffies, a dating app that really cuts to the chase, even faster than Grindr, which we did not think was possible. We also chat about grilled cheese, gas station bathrooms, and chugging beer. Plus, we also get into social media birthdays, AI weirdos, Israel Adesanya, and we all learn that Spencer Rice is 60 and we do not like it.
If you want to feel much younger again, throw $5 into the fountain of youth, which you can only find at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. Or FOUR, if you wanna donate at $8/month or above. And if you did, last week we released a special hangout episode with our very funny friends from Evil Men that you won't wanna miss only for those bourgeois enough to donate at that level. And coming this week for all our donors, it finally happened: Stefan drove for the first time in over a decade. It went...well, you'll see how it went as we videotaped it all. Plus we got merch discounts, a great Discord, and more, so check it out!

Episode 274: Dudes w/ Tony Boswell
Blocked Party
02/19/24 • 77 min
It's Freaky February and we continue on with an episode of "Dudes", a send-off on our good friend Bryan's podcast "Guys", which is about, well, guys. This week, we have Tony Boswell (Minion Death Cult) joining us to discuss a Dude near and dear to our hearts: the Nu-Metal Dude. We dig into the weird politics around the nu-metal sub-reddit and find a treasure trove of great Ticketmaster reviews of some of your favorite nu-metal bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, and Slipknot. Most of the reviews are about parking at the venue. Dudes, as they say, rock.
If you wanna rock, you can help support the show by heading over to patreon.com/blockedparty and donating $5/month to help the Blocked Boys. For that $5, you'll also get THREE bonus episodes every single month. Last week, Raft joined us for a mailbag episode, and this week, our famous "Word Up!" bonus episode returns, as we dig into the horrible, terrible, no good world of Cameo [dot] com. We also have ad-free episodes, merch discounts, an exclusive Discord, and more, so check it out!

Blocked Party
05/29/23 • 87 min
Christine Bortolin (comedian) joins the esteemed Four-Timers Club as she appears on a main episode of the show for a fourth time to tell us the tale of running a music venue's social media account and how that makes you responsible for destroying the attempts of various, obvious scammers trying to sell "tickets" to sold out shows. If this pod was live, it would definitely be sold out as we have a blast dipping into the Cameo well and visiting our friends the C*ck Destroyers, Christine discusses Everton's triumphant win and their avoidance of relegation, and we touch on seltzers, Pilates, horrific injuries, Michelle Pfeiffer, and uhh...acidic ejaculate. Plus, we learn there aren't a ton of people eating money online, Markelle Fultz gets himself into trouble for following a suspect account, and Stefan shows us one of the worst things AI has come up with so far.
If you want to follow a suspect account, you can donate to the show at patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month! This week, Zach Cherry makes his return to the show on our brand-new interview series "Heck/Cullen".
