Episode 9 - Highly Spiritual But Not Christian! (John 6:63-67)

In this episode we are in John 6 verses 63-67 and I am interviewing John. John is a very successful Podcast Host and Author that identifies as spiritual. The only issue is that not only does John not believe in Christ, he was once a believer and walked away from the faith. The same exact thing took place in John 6:63-67 and led Jesus to asking His twelve Disciples will they walk away from the faith as well. This is an episode you don’t want to miss, as disciples we have to be willing to minister to the lost and do it with love. That was my attempt at asking John on the show. I really just wanted to see his point of view and make sense of what he meant by spiritual. Not only that I got to share my views as well in a non-hostile/argumentative setting.

Last episode I interviewed a person who identifies as spiritual but not a Christian. Therefore, this week do not have the normal bonus episode of why do you believe in God, but I do have something for you.
A while back I had the chance of preaching and I touched on a very tough topic. The Book of Romans speak on what is needed for salvation and this is commonly known as the salvation prayer. Some believe this is all you have to do and you are saved forever, some disagree. For me I truly believe what Romans 10:9 say but I also questioned scriptures like Matthew 7:21-23 where it states that Not everyone who says to Me Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom...
Is this a contradiction? If I say the Salvation Prayer, can I guarantee my salvation? The truth is we have to share the who story when we are sharing the Gospel. They answer to this question, I believe is found in the story of the Rich Young Ruler. See Jesus knows your heart, and the question is, do you really believe in your heart when you say the salvation prayer? Or is there something you hold in your heart that is more valuable then following Christ? Listen to this episode and find out!
