Binge-Listen: Finished Fiction Podcast Trailers

Greetings, and welcome to The End Last Week, This Week, and Next Week, the podcast companion to The End, the website and newsletter that shines a light back on audio fiction shows after they've reached the finale of a season or the conclusion of the series. I am your host and the curator of The End, Evo Terra.

Before we get into it, shall we, a quick note of thanks to Flloyd Kennedy for becoming an Individual Supporter of The End. She’s a creator, so be sure to check out Am I Old Yet, currently at 8 seasons, with the 9th starting quite soon, I’m told. Thank you, Flloyd, for your support.

Want me to say nice things about you in the podcast and add your name to the website and every newsletter? Go to TheEnd.fyi/support. Because you can support us for an entire year for less than you pay each month for one of your streaming services.

And now... Let’s get into it, shall we?

Last Week

The most recent issue of The End—the 67th—highlighted 10 shows in either the Complete Series or Season Finales sections... and 5 of them wrapped in the last few days.

  • 😱📼👻 • The Patient Files, a dramatized horror anthology from Christopher George & Dark Papers Entertainment, posted the Season 1 finale on Dec 13th. Listen to the 23 current episodes in about 14 hours.
  • ⛰️🗡️🌲 • The Stonesinger Chronicles, a narrated epic fantasy series from Adam Ganong & Harmonic Series Media, where the entire show is made by just Adam, and that includes the entire orchestral score, has reached the season 1 finale also on December 13th3. You can listen to the 15 current episodes in a bit more than 11 hours.
  • 🥷🏼⚔️🥷🏼 • Five Deadly Rebels, a narrated martial arts action scifi series from Ian Tuason & DimensionGate Inc., also hit the Season 1 finale also on the very busy 13th of December. Give yourself about 7 and a half hours to listen to the 11 current episodes.
  • 🌊♭⛵ • Eeler's Choice is a dramatized maritime horror fantasy from Lou Sutcliffe, Daisy McNamara, and Cytochrome Hear. It’s created by trans disabled creators with the intent of uplifting underrepresented voices. Their Season 1 finale was posted on December 12th, and you can listen to the 6 current episodes in about 3 hours.
  • 🏃‍♀️💑🎶 • Underwater, a dramatized thriller series from Interval Presents, is fully complete as of the 12 of December, and you can enjoy all 8 episodes in about four hours.
  • And be sure to listen to the end of the audio file to hear trailers or snippets for these shows.

This Week

With every issue, I make two recommendations for great audio fiction I personally love. As with all things in life, YMMV.

  • 🎄👑💝 • My first recommendation is Build a Prince, a dramatized Christmas rom-com from Jenni Melear. If you never thought I'd recommend a "Hallmark Christmas romcom meets Bridgerton" show, you'd be in good company. But here we are. And if that's your sort of thing, you'll probably love this! 'Tis the season, after all. Here’s the trailer: [trailer plays] Buid a Prince is a complete show and a fast listen at just over an hour and a half to listen to all four episodes.
  • 🍔🐦‍⬛😴 • My next recommendation is Leaving Corvat, a dramatized surreal post-modern urban fantasy travelogue from Lex Noteboom. You know how dreams feel totally normal during the dream while one scene seamlessly transitions to another, and it all just... works? At least in the dream state? That’s kind of what I felt like listening to this season of Leaving Corvat. And I mean that in a good way! It's trippy, surreal, and a heck of a ride. Here’s the trailer: [trailer plays] Leaving Corvat currently has 2 seasons with more on the way. Catch up with the current 20 episodes in about 8 and a half hours.

Last Week

The most recent issue of The End—the 66th—highlighted 3 shows in either the Complete Series or Season Finales sections... and 2 of them wrapped in the last few days.

  • 🇺🇸🧟🎶 • Pale Columbia - A dramatized historical fiction series from Justin Heyman & Just Likely Productions, posted the season 1 finale on the 5th of December. Listen to the 6 current episodes in about two and a half hours. It’s about zombies. And Thomas Jefferson. Yeah. I know, right?
  • ⏱️💥🤯 • Tales of the ZugarouX - A narrated & dramatized suspenseful scifi series from Nel Zim, posted the Season 1 finale on November 30th. You can listen to the 14 current episodes in about three and a half hours.
  • And be sure to listen to the end of the audio file to hear trailers or snippets for these shows.

This Week

With every issue, I make two recommendations for great audio fiction I personally love. As with all things in life, YMMV.

  • 🎄🎭✨ • My first recommendation is SCROOGE: A Christmas Carol, a dramatized classic holiday story from Mark Ramsey Media & Hope Media Group. I featured this partly because Christmas is just around the corner. And because the all-star cast—a hobbit and a dwarf you’ll recognize—and some exceptionally well-crafted sound design make for an amazing story. It seems quite true to the source material, if memory serves. 'Tis the season, after all. Here’s the extended trailer: [trailer plays} SCROOGE: A Christmas Carol is a complete series. Enjoy the whole thing with a bowl of gruel in just two hours.
  • 🌊🛥️🦑 • My next recommendation is Last Known Position, a dramatized horror thriller from QCODE Media, starring Gina Rodriguez and James Purefoy. I've been on a "monsters from the deep" kick recently, and SPOILER!—This one is top-notch. The storyline is great, and the acting and sound design really bring the script to life. Not that I want giant monsters from the deep to come alive, but you take my meaning. Here’s the trailer: [trailer plays] Last Known Position currently has one season, and you can listen to all of those 8 episodes in under five hours.

Next Week

The latest issue of The End has seven entries in the New Seasons Coming Soon section, and two of them start up again in the next few days.

Season 18 of Selene, a dramatized supernatural mystery and horror series from Aaron J. Reardon & Rusty Quill, starts on 12 Dec 2023. Give yourself about 27 hours to catch up with the current 79 episodes.

Season 4 of The Diaries of Netovicius the Vampire, a narrated contemplative fantasy series from Hugo Pierre Martin & O4A Films, starts on 13 Dec 2023. Catch up with the current 36 episodes in about six and a half hours.

And please remember that trailers or snippets for those two and the two shows I mentioned at the start of this episode are coming your way right after I say...

And that’s all for this episode of The End Last Week, This Week, and Next Week. For these and the other audio fiction shows featured, highlighted, and coming soon that were included in the 66th issue of The End, including links to listen to the shows mentioned in this episode, please visit TheEnd.fyi. I’m Evo Terra. Thanks for listening.

Because this is the last issue before Christmas, I’m slightly changing the format of this episode because I got a bunch of Christmas-themed shows to mention.

So with that small disclaimer... Let’s get into it, shall we, and start with...

Christmas Week

The most recent issue of The End—the 68th—highlighted 5 shows that are Christmas-themed. My two favorites you’ll hear about in a moment, but there are three others you may be interested in if you feel like binging holiday-focused audio fiction while you wrap presents or whatever.

❤️🎄🎅🏻 • Tune Into Christmas,a dramatized heartwarming collection of Christmas tales told through 50's era radio from Elizabeth Hansen & Dramafy, is ready for you. It’s a complete series with only three short episodes for a total listening time of 27 minutes.

❤️🎄🎁 • A Gift, a dramatized faith-based Christmas tale from Matthew P. Woerner, AudioImagination77 Productions, and Dramafy, is also in your stocking. You only need an hour to listen to the single episode of this complete story.

🪄🎄🎶 • Jimmy and the Star Angel, a dramatized Christmas fantasy musical from Jerry Robins, Colonial Radio Theatre, and Dramafy. has been completed since 2016, but we’ve wrapped it in a nice bow for you. Give yourself just over an hour and a half to listen to both episodes.

  • 🌲🔥💀 • Submitted for the Approval of the Midnight Pals, a dramatized comedy horror from Bitter Karella & Robin Johnson, which is an adaptation of Bitter’s Hugo-nominated social media microfiction that features a majority of queer and neurodivergent creators, posted their Season 1 finale on the 19th of December. Listen to the 8 current episodes in about 5 hours.
  • 😈👹👻 • Your Horror Show, a dramatized horror anthology from Ryan Joseph Murphy, which was part of Pocket Casts "Halloween Horrors" List, posted the Season 1 finale on the 18th of December Listen to the 10 current episodes in about four hours.

  • 🤔😯😱 • E.A.T.I, a dramatized scifi cosmic-horror mystery from "Myster", posted its Season 1 finale on December the 14th. The episodes are short, so you’ll only need about an hour to listen to the 7 current episodes.
  • And be sure to listen to the end of the audio file to hear trailers or snippets for these shows.

This Week

With every issue, I make two recommendations for great audio fiction I personally love. As with all things in life, YMMV. And it is Christmas time so...

  • 🔎🎄👻 • My first recommendation is
