Name That Critter
Bigfoot Crossing
04/21/22 • 28 min
In this episode of the Bigfoot Crossing Podcast, bigfoot researcher Michael Willey attempts to "name that critter." In doing so, Michael must first classify bigfoot. Is bigfoot a legend? Are bigfoot sightings the result of a hoax? Or hallucinations? Or mis-identified bears? Or is bigfoot an honest to goodness, real, living, breathing creature? After answering those critical questions, Michael then turns to determining just what kind of critter bigfoot is.

October 6, 1958 - A Very Slow News Day Part 2
Bigfoot Crossing
07/22/24 • 33 min
This is the second episode of a multi-episode series on the events that took place in 1958 in the area around Bluff Creek in northern California. The front page of the October 5, 1958 edition of the Humboldt Time in Eureka, CA featured a photograph of a respectable looking gentleman holding a plaster cast of a 16 inch footprint, one of many the gentleman in question, one Jerry Crew, had found at his job site near Bluff Creek in northern CA. The accompanying front page article related, among other things, how the road construction crew had taken to calling the maker of those footprints bigfoot. The Associated Press Wire service picked up the story and on Monday, October 6, the story went nationwide. Yes, fellow babies, October 6, 1958 has gone down in history as the very slow news day on which bigfoot entered American culture. We're going to take an in-depth look at the events leading up to the publication and the aftermath of the publication.
