Big Strange

Hello hello! In this episode, Zach talks to Darryl about his experience directing a short film as Big Strange's first project. Back in 2018, shortly after we created the Big Strange collective, we spent 5 intensive days making All of This!!!, a 14-minute film about artists encountering a natural disaster. We talk about the semi-chaotic filming process and how Darryl managed to keep everyone on the same page, how the story is a metaphorical foretelling of society's current situation with coronavirus, what were some of our favorite moments during the filming process, and more.

In this episode, Zach talks to Brendan who has been living in Italy for 2 years. Brendan has been working on a film that he shot in southern Sicily, and while most of it was shot there is a small amount of filming left. For now, though, he is essentially stuck in his home where he can work with the editor remotely, read books, write poetry, and keep himself busy with other artistic endeavors. We talk about what the local government has done to keep the coronavirus from spreading, what life is like where he lives, how to support those who are quarantined, and more.
