She is passionate about basking sharks, and her work has taken her to Ireland to study them as well. In Ireland she is a part of the Irish Basking Shark Group, a group of scientists keen to get basking sharks designated as a protected species.

They hold immense amount of knowledge and passion for common topics. The truth is that scientists can learn a lot from Indigenous peoples on the land that they study.
