Becoming an LLC, Contracts, & Hiring Employees | Let’s talk LEGAL with attorney, Lauren Boyd
Behind The Feed
01/05/22 • 75 min
EP 57: Hey there, welcome to behind the feed! Today’s episode we are talking all things LEGAL with Lauren Boyd! We are covering everything from how and why you should become an LLC as a content creator, what to look for in brand partnership contracts, and how to hire employees and set contractual boundaries for yourself! Lauren is an entrepreneur, attorney, podcast host, speaker, and proud new mom who is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs gain confidence in their legal foundation. Before venturing out on her own, Lauren was in a predicament many attorneys face. She worked in corporate law, climbing the ladder negotiating more than $3 billion in international contracts — but she found herself feeling uninspired and burned out. In 2018, Lauren started and scaled her own six-figure boutique law firm, Guide My Business, in less than 12 months. Through Guide My Business, Lauren empowers entrepreneurs to build a strong foundation for their businesses through relationship-focused legal advice, without relying on fear-based terms — instead, Lauren comes from a place of empowerment and education. At the heart of all she does, Lauren is driven by her passion for helping entrepreneurs own their brand and their day, which is the theme of her podcast, The Lauren Boyd Show. Let’s go ahead and jump on in!

EP 53 Hey there, welcome to Behind the Feed! I’m Josie Bullard and today I am opening up and getting super vulnerable with you guys. I am sharing why I went off the birth control pill a year ago even though I have absolutely no plans of having kids anytime soon. I am sharing what this journey has been like and answering your most burning question of all, how do I avoid pregnancy since I am not on hormonal birth control. Let’s Jump in!
When I created this podcast I wanted it to be a way to pull back the curtain on my life and her creator’s lives. Most of the time I focus on the behind the scenes business stuff but I want to share personal things too. I want this podcast to be a place that uplifts women as well and that is why I have felt so compelled to talk about this topic for a year now.
I do want to make a huge disclaimer before I begin this episode. I am not a doctor, Today I am sharing fro my PERSONAL experience. I am by no means giving medical advice. This episode is soul to bring awareness to the topic and share my own journey. Always consult with your own doctor before making changes to your lifestyle and health!
Also I want to say that I am NOT anti hormonal birth control. The invention of things like the pill was one of the biggest advancements to ever happen to women in modern society. It allowed women to have a choice for their life & chase after their own dreams and aspirations if they wanted to. At the end of the day I am ALWAYS for women having a choice when it comes to their health & bodies, period.
CORRECTION: I noticed I mention the Cycle tracking method and how it is not accurate. I MEANT to say the rhythm method! Regardless I describe what it is in the episode but I did want to include this note so it is accurate!

Brand Collaborations: How to Pitch Yourself Like a Pro with Influencer Coach, Kahlea Nicole
Behind The Feed
05/06/20 • 53 min
EP10: Today we are going Behind the Feed with influencer Coach, Kahlea Nicole, as she explains the ins and out of brand collaborations and pitching yourself to brands. We are covering it all from common mistake influencers make when sending a pitch, tips on how to land partnerships, how much you should be charging, and more!
Kahlea started her blog back in 2015 as a way of expressing her love for all things fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. About a year into her blogging journey she was introduced to the idea of brand partnerships but
influencers she would reach out to for advice made it seem like working with brands was this super exclusive industry "secret." Unfazed, she began to test out different pitching strategies on her own which resulted in her landing over 100+ brand deals in the last 5 years.
During that time, she's worked with companies like Coach, Express, Not Your Mother's, Conair, and more. These opportunities allowed her to graduate college and transition into a full-time social media influencer. Simultaneously, she became an Influencer Coach so others could learn and implement the same strategies that worked for her.
With more influencers entering the marketplace each day, getting noticed by brands and landing partnership deals becomes more difficult. That’s why Kahlea provides custom coaching for micro + macro-influencers so they can easily monetize their influence and grow their business.
You can find Kahlea on Instagram, @kahleanicolee, being a total goofball while offering up educational resources that teach gals how to pitch to brands, negotiate offers, and get paid what they're worth!
