Monica Andreae is the Catering & Events Director at Halyards Catering on St. Simons Island, GA. She helps create and design experiences that mark special events like weddings and receptions, anniversaries, family reunions, dinner parties, corporate events and more. Whether she’s working on production elements like tent, lighting and layout or menus, the most important piece of the process to her is giving clients an experience that reflects what they want. Values like honesty and integrity are at the core of everything she does in order to assure a great client experience.
Andreae’s passion for events started from her years of work in the luxury automotive industry. Working on national events and launch campaigns for clients like Audi and Saab was the foundation that started her passion for events and event management. Having different objectives and elements for each event keeps her going and being able to close the book on a successful program is very satisfying. It’s what she’d like to think is what drives her to get up every morning, but honestly, it’s her 8 year old daughter. Andreae is a proud mother of her busy and energetic daughter. While not producing events or meeting with clients, she keeps busy coaching her daughter’s soccer team, dashing her off to piano or riding lessons and keeping family life as full of fun as possible.

Join Wendy Norman of Apt B Photography and Bobbi as they discuss Mentoring + Coaching Within the Wedding Community in part two of a two part interview. From Wendy's thoughts on imposter syndrome, branding, mentoring as well as being mentored along with social media, this episode is chock full of great information!
Wendy is the owner of Apt. B Photography, a whimsical + heart-centered wedding photography company based in Savannah, GA. She’s an Enneagram 4 who spends most of her free time snuggling her pug Winston, doing CrossFit, or buying yet another pair of Rifle Paper Co. Keds.

Over the last 10 years as a photographer, she's learned that being a photographer is about more than just taking good photos - it’s about creating a joy-filled, easy experience for everyone in front of her camera! So whether she is making you laugh during a chaotic moment on your wedding day, getting down in the sand to play with your kids during a family shoot, or dancing behind the camera to make you giggle, or sending you surprise snail mail - it’s ALL part of a magical photography experience.

In addition to serving her photography clients, Wendy loves to mentor small business owners through one-on-one coaching, group workshops, and co-leading her local Tuesday’s Together chapter.

"What I do: My job is to help bring dream weddings to life by communicating with each vendor so couples don't have to worry about who is showing up when, coordinating a rehearsal so the bridal party, parents, and grandparents can go into the wedding day with confidence, create and maintain a timeline for the wedding day, make sure i's are dotted and t's are crossed, put out any and all "fires", make sure the couple is enjoying their day, and that's just to name the basics. I've found myself creating centerpieces, cutting cakes, fixing bride and groom's dinner plates, and so much more. I have a passion for wedding days; that includes the tiny details, the love, the hustle and excited air each of those days bring."

The Essential Takeaways:
5:43 the reason that I really believe that Instagram has resonated so much specifically with couples is it gives them the opportunity to get to know you on a visual level first, because obviously, weddings are a very esthetic medium, you know, people don't come to weddings and just say, Oh, I'm just here for the food anymore. You know, they're coming for an experience, they're coming, because they want to feel something like they're looking for an emotion, they're looking for a feeling, they're looking for something beautifully created. And weddings are really all of those things for people. So when they come to Instagram, they get, they get to start to imagine their life with their partner in this space that you have created, or this experience that you're creating. 7:50 That's part of the problem is that because we have kind of disconnected a couple, we've disconnected from that experience and don't necessarily know how to share that experience. And then I think also, again, like people just feel like, Oh, I'm not a good writer or I'm not a writer, I don't know what to say, I don't know how to say it. Do people even care are they even reading because Instagram is such a scrolling medium
