Felicia Lee: Host of Beauty Within Shares The Most Surprising Things She Learned About Skincare | Episode 12
Banish*It With Daisy Jing
02/09/20 • 51 min
“It all starts from within. We want to inspire our viewers to be better versions of themselves through our beauty and wellness content that resonates with their daily lives.”
Beauty Within looks into the world of skincare, beauty, and wellness. Their mission is to help their viewers become better versions of themselves through knowing about all the products out there and how our body functions uniquely.
Felicia has lived in a fast-paced city and always pushing her limit to grow. Starting the Beauty Within channel has been one of her most life-changing experiences.
It started as Asian Beauty Secrets and was rebranded to Beauty Within 2 years ago. Innovations are greatly considered because they know that the space of YouTube and Beauty is changing rapidly. They also wanted to reach larger markets and produce more relatable content.
Beauty Within is now more focused on skincare and lifestyle mindset as a holistic way of living. The competition will always be there, but Felicia is assured that Beauty Within’s heart is in each piece of content. Obstacles come and go, which is inevitable in any industry.
She emphasized that materialistic purpose is never victorious to any industry. A grounded purpose can make a difference. They aim to establish Beauty Within as a symbol of self-identity by being an avenue to finding what we are made of. Connecting the inner and outer worlds.
Although viewers don’t see it, there is a lot of complicated work behind the scenes. She recognizes the important role of a team’s unified effort in achieving the goals.
We can get a hold of our beauty and flaws, and piece them together to make us whole. And it’s that wholeness comes from embracing all of who we are. Authenticity is huge! This is where inner growth stems from.
Listen to how Felicia shares her vulnerabilities- as a business person, host, and purposeful woman.

I Tried Fillers For Acne Scars | Episode 11
Banish*It With Daisy Jing
12/20/19 • 9 min
Are you ready to try fillers? Not only are acne scars difficult to treat... they can also be a distressing reminder of the skin troubles of the past, often being as emotionally painful as the breakouts themselves.
Daisy talks about her personal experience trying fillers for her acne scars. Unfortunately, the treatment did not work on her. She actually regrets trying it. Six months later when she realized that results are not getting better for her.
Does it really work to treat acne scars? Dermal fillers are one of the options to treat and potentially get rid of certain types of acne scars, being particularly effective for rolling scars and some less defined boxcar scars. But like any other treatment, results vary from skin to skin.
Daisy does not wanna get accustomed to doing this. Fillers may work if your acne scars are larger, where it doesn't matter where the filler moves about if the scar is so large.
Before good skin treatment can be attempted, it is important to have a clear understanding of how the skin operates. Keeping good habits in addition to right skin treatment will help the skin age gracefully and beautifully.

First Trimester Pregnancy Symptoms | Episode 10
Banish*It With Daisy Jing
12/13/19 • 16 min
“First and foremost, there is no ABSOLUTE rule for what to CUT OUT during pregnancy. It all depends on how conservative you want to be.”
Now that the cat’s officially out of the bag, Daisy shares her challenging stories from the first trimester!
Harmful exposures during the first trimester have the biggest risk of causing birth defects. This is because many important developmental changes take place during this time. The major structures of the body form in the first trimester.
Cardboard in the uterus!?!? Can you imagine how it feels like? That is how Daisy can describe after knowing that she is pregnant. Along with this are challenges that first-time pregnancy brings. There are physical and mental agonies. She has so much respect for the mothers out there for braving the challenges of pregnancy!
The baby will change a lot during the first trimester, rapidly developing from the first hints of life into a peach-sized fetus. While life inside her womb is growing, Daisy is experiencing physical and emotional disturbances. Constant nausea, dizziness, and feeling like her stomach were on fire. Everything tasting like metal. What?!?! Her migraines and being super hot with diarrhea and cold sores, so many on her list to mention.
All-day sickness! Daisy believes that it is truly a miracle that she is able to keep everything going work-wise and even personally.
She has NO IDEA how BAD it was going to be. She always sees photos of cute bumps and women glowing. “I’m so excited about this second trimester. This pregnancy has made me realize that every great life experience has so many ups and downs. And in the end, it is ALL worth it.” It’s so surreal to think about that in a few months from now, Daisy will have the little love of her life.

Does Skin Care Really Help You? | Episode 15
Banish*It With Daisy Jing
03/14/20 • 14 min
In this episode, Daisy talks about why she doesn’t like skin care anymore despite the fact of being the CEO of BANISH. Seven years after starting BANISH, she still has a lot of mixed feelings with skincare.
While growing up, Daisy never thought that she was pretty but rather thinks that she is the ugly duckling in her group. For Daisy, acne became her scapegoat and it prevented her from doing what she wanted to do and from being who she truly is. And because of this, she thought of starting out her own skincare company hence the existence of BANISH.
Daisy shares why it’s a myth that the more products you try and use, the more that it will change your life.
How Daisy’s standard of beauty has changed from my 20’s to my 30’s. She used to always make sure that she will look perfect in the eyes of the people and after getting pregnant and being in her 30s, she now feels ok with how she looks.

Pregnancy Symptoms, Food Poisoning | Episode 8
Banish*It With Daisy Jing
11/28/19 • 26 min
“As long as you’re authentic to yourself and express your truth; blessings will come in the most unexpected ways”
Being a ‘control freak’ has helped me in my career and business success. I’ve learned hard work, persistence, and grit has helped me overcome so many obstacles in business. However, in more personal affairs, my ‘control freak’ nature isn’t as conducive.
What I’ve learned through this journey: there are many things you cannot control in life. Even in personal relationships, you cannot control someone else. Even the success of a business has an element of luck to it. When growing a human being or a family, you only have so much control. What is most important is to be your authentic self and the right people and blessings will come in their time.
Throughout my pregnancy, I’ve learned to enjoy the journey instead of trying to ‘control it’. Just like my first baby, Banish; my second baby also happened by happenstance. But I don’t believe either was an ‘accident’; I was living in my truth and in that, life gives you so many unexpected blessings.
I really wanted to be a mom but wasn’t sure when the ‘right time’ would be. Should she wait until she is more ‘settled’? But with waiting too long, there are unexpected consequences and you cannot race biology.
Getting pregnant is something that we do not have control over. In your early days, you are taught you should do everything to avoid getting pregnant. Then it’s like a switch happens at 30, and that’s all people are trying to do.
I have always been an advocate of authenticity. I am never afraid to share my vulnerabilities. From how I started Banish, I did it by speaking my truths from fears, insecurities, influence, and focus. Even my affirmations and problem-solving are highlighted.

How To Get Abs: Intermittent Fasting vs High-Intensity Strength Training | Episode 7
Banish*It With Daisy Jing
11/22/19 • 11 min
“Having an ab crack or being fat, skinny or fit or curvy does not make you different as a person. Having it doesn’t change the way you are. It doesn’t define you.”
After YEARS of trying to lose weight on my belly (and believe me, it seemed impossible), I finally figured out how to get that coveted ab crack! Counting calories/going vegan/keto did not work for me, but these two secrets did!
In this episode Daisy talks about:
- What is an ab crack
- How intermittent fasting works
- The adjustment from doing intermittent fasting
- How high-intensity strength training works for her
Show notes:
1:32 - Intermittent fasting: subjecting to a long period of time without eating.
2:20 - She takes on intermittent fasting to get rid of her migraine
3:35 - It took her 2 weeks to fully adjust in skipping breakfast
3:53 - Daisy is not particular in her diet. She still eats normal foods but only not taking breakfast til later time of the day.
5:05 - She lost 6-7 pounds with intermittent fasting
5:30 - High-intensity Strength Training: best to do in the mornings and on a complete fast
6:30 - Sweating even after a shower- so intense training
7:05 - Not an easy journey in the beginning but seeing results makes it a routine already
9:30 - Results came in after 2-3 months: ab crack is visible
10:26 - Consistency is really important to achieve an ab crack
Be mindful of how your workout is affecting you. Overdoing it is not healthy at all. Do plan rest days as well. Any activity is better than none at all. It is beneficial for making regular physical activity part of your lifestyle.

My Extreme Anti-aging Secrets | Episode 6
Banish*It With Daisy Jing
11/15/19 • 16 min
“First things first, with anti-aging, I would say prevention is better than cure. When we hit our 20’s, we start losing collagen on our skin that is responsible for making our skin as youth-looking, plump and wrinkle-free.”
In this episode Daisy shares all about:
- Her anti-aging secrets
- Importance of anti-aging skin care products
- Skin care products that prevent skin aging
- Significance of collagen production in youth-looking, plump and wrinkle-free skin
Show notes:
1:10 - Daisy has no eye wrinkles because she is continuously using Banisher on her temples
1:25 - Building up collagen by using ascorbic acid and Banish Oil onto her skin which prevented skin issues
1:50 - Daisy wants to age gracefully
2:20 - Society has set crazy standards to look like 21 at all times
3:20 - We start the aging process at 20 years old, this is the best time to take care of skin seriously.
3:50 - Always wear sunscreen
7:10 - Be careful with what you wash your face with;
8:55 - Don’t use a heavily clean cleanser or foaming cleanser
9:20 - Be careful in using products containing alcohol as the main ingredient
11:10 - Use a skin moisturizer
12:15 - Always drink a lot of water
13:00 - Use collagen induction therapy
14:00 - Banisher: further building collagen onto the skin
Prevention is better than cure. After the age of 20, collagen production decreases by 1% every year. The aging process happens at 20 years old, so this is the best time to take care of your skin.
Daisy does not mean that she wants to look young forever, it matters to look your age and manifest that you have lived an amazing life.
