Education is the foundation of successful trading and community/support is the glue that holds it all together. At Band of Traders, our mission is to provide you with educational resources to sharpen your trading skills. Our thriving Discord community is a great source of inspiration, motivation and camaraderie. We are bringing together traders of all levels for no-nonsense insights into the trading world. We don’t sugarcoat the truth because traders must have the ability to evaluate their trades, strategies and emotional states in order to achieve personal growth. That growth is an integral part of becoming a master trader. We believe that we are stronger together, learn more together, and have better trades together. Our weekly Round Table episodes are casual conversations about the week's trading lessons, educational content, strategies, and all things trading. Our rotation of co-hosts keeps the discussions fresh. Plus, once a month, we’ve got a special treat – a Round Table with expert guests to dive deep into a specific topic. These episodes drop on Mondays. On Thursdays we release our in-depth guest interviews and informative miniseries episodes, all with a focus on trading and trader education. We cover a wide range of topics including stocks and options, FOREX, and futures. Don’t just listen, get involved! Our community members not only share insights, trade ideas, charts and journals, they actively participate in podcast content. Beyond suggesting possible guests, we encourage our listeners to consider recording an episode with us and an expert guest they have questions for. Many of our guests also participate in our Discord discussions, giving traders of all levels opportunities to learn and connect. Are you ready to embrace the true essence of trading? Join us on the True Trading podcast, where we uncover the real world of trading, one episode at a time. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re an experienced trader, we have something for everyone. Explore our episodes, connect with fellow traders, learn from each other’s successes and failures, and grow as we trade together.

Allen Sama, The Options Genius
Band of Traders - Together We Trade
11/10/21 • 51 min
Joining us in the shop this week is Allen Sama, the head trader at Options Genius LLC. Listen along as we discuss the long and arduous path Mr. Sama took towards profitability and the winning strategy that path led him to. We discuss a little bit of everything, from options and losing large sums of (someone else's) money, to financial planning for your kids and even a little bit about cryptos. This one has a little bit of everything and Allen's honesty and humor makes it a must listen!
About Allen Sama:Allen Sama is a full-time trader and trading coach specializing in high probability trading. He started trading once he was laid off from the only "real" job he ever had and only got serious when he lost over $40K of his newlywed wife's savings and vowed to her that he would either become profitable in 3 months or go back into the workforce. Since then, he has used what he calls Passive Trading to be able to make more in a day than he was used to making in an entire year.
Allen's Path was far from easy and he openly shares his struggles of overcoming severe frustration, hundreds of losing trades and losing thousands of dollars. Now he lives a life most can only dream of, earning a full time income trading less than an hour a day.

Deborah W. Ellis: CFP at Cogent Independent Advisors
Band of Traders - Together We Trade
11/17/21 • 48 min
Our guest this week is Deborah Ellis, a certified financial planner with Cogent Independent Advisors. Deborah joins us to discuss her journey through the markets; how she went from a career in the film industry to pursuing her passion in the investment world. Listen along as we discuss the important people who started us on our journey, how a financial planner can help people from all aspects, as well as some fun stories from her time on the sets of several iconic shows of the past.
If you'd like to speak with Deborah about Financial Planning, you can reach her via her Email or by phone at (805) 585-5424 (ext. 2)
About Deborah W. Ellis:As a certified financial planner Deborah exemplifies the Cogent Way. She has the education, life experience, and knowledge of changes in the financial landscape of the 21st century to help clients in identifying and attaining their financial goals. She’s seen how devastating a lack of fundamental financial knowledge can be for individuals, families and businesses. She believes that, like anything expected to grow and thrive, money must be cared for and nurtured. Without the proper guidance, financial wealth may not necessarily mean financial well-being.
She is proud to have worked in all phases of film and television production over the years, but was moved by what she experienced to offer clients a source for financial guidance. To this end, she combined her math and computer knowledge with her creativity and her commitment to integrity, transparency and ongoing education to pursue her career as a Certified Financial Planner.
Deborah earned her MBA in Investments, Finance and Economics from Pepperdine University Malibu, California and her Bachelors Degree in Art from University of California, Los Angeles.
She completed requirements to sit for the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) exam at Colorado College of Financial Planning, where she also earned her Charter Retirement Planning Counselor designation.
She is a member of the Director’s Guild of American, Women in Film and the Financial Planning
Association.
Deborah lives in Southern California with her husband, Bruce and their loving poodle Sandy
