Ball Hawks Podcast

The guys are back for the THIRD time in 7 days!! You asked for content and we delivered with 3 episodes and this one did not disappoint. A slow week in the NFL is no problem for the Ball Hawks Podcast! Find the podcast on Twitter @ballhawks_pod Steve @ssfisher87 and Chris @phillipschris12 Please be sure to subscribe to the podcast wherever get your podcasts from. Give us a rating and leave us a review! The guys discuss some news from around the league (9:39) to start the episode. Topics include: what the Washington Football Team should rename to, the Cleveland Browns getting former first overall pick Jadeveon Clowney, the Seattle Seahawks signing Aldon Smith (recorded before Smith was wanted on battery charges Monday), and the Baltimore Ravens bringing in veteran pass rusher Justin Houston. We decided to shake this episode up a little bit and do a piece that allows you to get to know us a bit better. (41:58) Steve and Chris talk about why they became fans of their respective teams. Followed by some favorite memories from their teams most recent (only for Hawks) Super Bowl runs. This week's Third Down (77:34) features role reversal with Steve picking the topic and match-ups and Chris on the hot seat to make picks. It was a hit with the topic being some classic post game NFL rants! Let us know if we missed one you think is worthy of mention @ballhawks_pod The most prestigious award this week goes to John E. Buchanan for being a loyal listener and one of the select few people to write us a great review! Thanks, friend!

Lions & Aliens & Nicknames oh my! feat. Andrew from Alien Theorists Theorizing Podcast

The guys were back in the lab for the SECOND time this week! You wanted more content, we listened, we delivered. This episode features special guest Andrew from the Alien Theorists Theorizing podcasts, found exclusively on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/show/38hrYEIlNzErO7XtfdZUaS?si=e4WpgdL4QhidaiRscp5wnA Andrew is a lifelong Detroit Lions fan and the second straight guest to claim their team has accomplished the 0-16 title. Andrew bring his passion of the Detroit Lions to the pod, to educate us on everything you need to know about #OnePride Football talks kickoff (12:05) with the news of Julian Edelman's 69% chance of retirement. Find out whether any of the guys think Edelman is worthy of being in the Hall of Fame. Let us know @ballhawks_pod whether you think he deserves to be inducted with a gold jacket. The guys then dive into the Matthew Stafford-Jared Goff trade (26:41) of a while back. It was obvious how highly Andrew thinks of Stafford, but outlined why this is a move the Lions fanbase should be excited for. Gears shift towards the NFL draft (39:40) which is only two weeks away. The guys get Andrew to react to a bunch of different scenarios for the Lions top picks in the draft. Who does Andrew think the Lions should draft at #7 overall? Or does he want them to trade up or down? An episode wouldn't be complete without another great Third Down segment (63:41). This week's topic is the best NFL nicknames! The good, the bad and the very ugly (and maybe slightly offside) nicknames of NFL players. Can Steve get his first Third Down segment win? Or will he keep the winless streak going like the 2008 Lions and 2017 Browns? Only one way to find out! A huge thanks as always to our listeners and supporters. Find us on Twitter @ballhawks_pod @ssfisher87 @phillipschris12 Please leave us a review, rate the pod (5 stars obvs), and subscribe! Peace!

Ravens Flock with Special Guest Sarah Ellison

Do we have a treat for you this week!!! We have been hinting at it all weekend and it's finally here. The guys sat down with former Baltimore Ravens editor, creator of Man of the Crowd Podcast and the Late for Work feature on baltimoreravens.com, Sarah Ellison. Give her a follow on Twitter @sarahgellison. Sarah was gracious enough to do an ENTIRE episode with the guys and this is one all fans will want to hear. We started by asking about her time at BYU and how that led into an internship with the Baltimore Ravens, due to a certain Head Coach of the Ravens at the time. With a lot of hard work and some timely luck, Sarah landed a job with the organization she calls first class. Sarah went into a plethora of reasons why she thinks the Ravens embody that title. She also treated us to a story about the secrecy of the Ravens and how that really showed itself when the Ravens moved back into the first round in 2018 and drafted Lamar Jackson. We also got into recent news about Orlando Brown Jr being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs. We talked about trade value and how can you assess a trade in the immediacy or? The guys also picked Sarah's brain about the recent Bucky Brooks comments about the how the Ravens could select Ohio State's Justin Fields in the first round this Thursday at the First Round of the NFL Draft in Cleveland. She had a VERY interesting response! Finally, it wouldn't be an episode of the Ball Hawks Podcast without a Third Down segment. Steve and Sarah go head to head with this week's topic being, former Ravens first round picks. Sarah had the guys shocked within the first few seconds of matchup number 1! There were some really tough matchups, which were likened to having to choose between your children. Be sure to give us a review, rate and subscribe to us.
