This was the sixth annual Groundhog Day and it was a resounding success thanks to the support of the Bald Move community! This year, Jim and A.Ron watched the entire Fast and Furious franchise to raise money for the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund and they had a great time along the way. Martin Scorsese is back at the ripe old age of 80 to spin another one of his gangster tales. Set in 1920s Oklahoma, Killers of the Flower Moon depicts the injustices suffered by the indigenous poeples of America through the lens of one family's maniacal and murderous attempts to steal their rights to oil found on their land.
It's incredibly well acted and is at times gorgeous to look at, even though its action might unsettle you at times. So... it's a Scorsese movie. You probably already know if you'll like this one, but if not, there are a lot worse ways to spend an evening.

Jim and A.Ron are surprisingly underwhelmed by the live action version of the classic sci-fi anime, Ghost in the Shell. Unimpressive from a philosophic and even action standpoint, both it’s ideas and stunts seemed largely tired and less alive than the half human half robot protagonist of the movie. The cast and crew give it a valiant try, but ultimately the slavish devotion to the source material is a millstone around the film’s neck that it can never quite shrug off.

Aaron wanted us to check out the 1991 mystery/thriller, "The Silence of the Lambs", directed by Jonathan Demme and starring Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster. It's no surprise that we're mesmerized by Hopkin's performance of the chilling yet suave and charming Dr. Hannibal Lecter, and found the film offered some smart commentary on a female breaking into a male dominated space as well. What might be to some surprise is Jim and A.Ron's relative unfamiliarity with the material, which led to some confusion in places. Hope you enjoy the podcast, I hear it pairs well with a nice Chianti.
