NOFX is saying goodbye?! WTF? NO! F**K THAT!
Melvin
AKA Eric Melvin is co-founder and guitarist for the SoCal punk legends NOFX. It's hard to imagine a punk rock existence without a new NOFX album and tour in the queue, but he we are... NOFX is saying 'Adios' with a string of final shows in Chicago for Riot Fest, and a trio of FINAL-FINAL shows taking place on Oct. 4,5,6 in San Pedro, CA. Melvin takes a stroll back to his youth discovering punk rock, forming NOFX with bassist Fat Mike AKA Mike Burkett, helping to define the sound of SoCal skate punk culture and I even get to reminisce about "Rock Against Bush" 2004 in Bakersfield, CA. But wait, there's more...We also dive into the band's politics, band family dynamics, saying goodbye, preserving a legacy, and what's next (?) Episode includes the NOFX songs: "Bob," "Linoleum".

Bakotunes welcomes longtime LA ska and reggae music brethren Junor Francis, host of Reggae Connection (KSPC, Clairmont College) and The Reggae Show (KLXU) , and Eric Kohler (Goldenvoice, Reggae Nucleus Magazine.)
Junor Francis:
After discovering his love for ska and rocksteady music by transistor radio as a youth in the lush Farm District of Manchester Parish, Jamaica, Junor Francis packed his bags landing in New York with hopes of one day breaking into radio. After grinding his way through east coast life, he found his way to the sunny LA radio airwaves to begin a respectable career spanning nearly four decades. Still heard around the globe, he's become one of reggae and ska radio's most recognized and respected figures.
Eric Kohler:
A true eighties kid, Eric Kohler's affinity for live music has taken him from the independent publishing arena as the co-founder of reggae music magazine, Reggae Nucleus to the concert music industry working at LA show and mega fest promoters, Goldenvoice. In between his busy work and home life, Eric has also been instrumental in contributing to the growth of the ska and reggae legends scene, co-producing shows featuring classic Jamaican artists and up-and-coming artists.
Junor and Eric also host their own Web and audio podcast, "The History of LA SKA: One on One Sessions," available on Youtube, and your favorite podcast listening outlets.
SHOW ALERT! Saturday, March 18th, 2023 - Goldenvoice & Skamania present Stranger Cole (backed by The Steady 45's,) with Ocean 11, The Elysians, DJs Mila, LadyEye La & Marv Mack, and MC Junor Francis! El Rey Theatre, 5515 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA. CLICK FOR TICKETS!

One of the shortest interviews I've ever had, but even 5-minutes with Sheryl Crow is bound to be a blast...and it was! I've been a fan since "Tuesday Night Music Club" and in 2011 I had the pleasure of connecting with Sheryl during her tour in support of her album "100 Miles From Memphis." Includes the songs, "100 Miles From Memphis" and "All I Wanna Do". A midweek Bakotunes bonus episode to help save you from the blahs with one of the best singer-songwriters around, Sheryl Crow!
