The morning of January 15, 1947, Betty Bersinger was pushing her 3 year old daughter in a stroller through the Leimert Park section of South Los Angeles when something caught her eye amid the weedy, vacant lots.
What she first thought was a mannequin given how it was posed with the upper and lower body completely detached she quickly learn was a human corpse who would later be identified as Elizabeth short. This murder is still one of hollywoods most brutal and notoriously unsolved cases to this day.
