Bachelor Nation Newbies

Bachelor Nation Newbies

Leane, Claire and Phoebe

A Los Angeles mom and her two teenage/young adult daughters (21 and 19) are the Bachelor Nation Newbies. The Newbies discovered The Bachelor during the pandemic in Spring of 2020 when watching the 2009 Jason Mesnick Season on Netflix.
Each week we're sharing both our newbie Bachelor Nation perspective and glimpses into our family dynamics during an unedited conversation about life, love and everything in between as we use The Bachelor/The Bachelorette as a conduit for a fresh, mom/daughters conversation. Perfect for a Bachelor fix on your daily dog walk or while folding laundry. Whether you're new like us, a veteran BN fanatic or just interested in topics like love, dating, mom/daughter relationships, moving away to college, feminism, reality television, life with a Husky, an old Chihuahua, and much more - join us as our bachelor journey continues to unfold.

As the Newbies try to catch up to Charity's blistering fast love journey, the discussion per usual starts on an extreme tangent surrounding Claire's new life farming dream that started on her Pinterest board in 5th grade.
The Newbies' Sunday morning brains are slow to focus on Charity's love but when all is said and done, Dotun continues to be the winner with Xavier and Joey fighting for a close second.
This love journey is winding down quickly - thanks for tuning in for this generational chat. Please rate and review wherever you listen!

In this Saturday afternoon edition of Michelle's Love Journey, the Newbies express their enthusiasm for bad-ass Michelle's love mission and think that green-eyed Joe may very well be the one for her. In this high energy weekend chat, the Newbies discuss Halloween costumes; the benefit of place mats that you can wipe down; how the joy and heartbreak of life are two sides of the same coin; how much they love Rodney's apple problems; how to spell entrepreneur; and how come no one will leave Pizza Pete alone?
Special guest appearance by Phoebe's significant other, a noisy neighbor and maybe Leane's growling stomach.
Thanks for listening!
Next episode - the Newbies are going to try and streamline the conversation! It's Season 3 so maybe it's time? Let us know in the comments!

The Bachelor Nation Newbies (Leane, Claire and Phoebe) kick off their podcasting adventure over breakfast screaming "Matt James! Matt James!" while discussing a range of topics including why Matt licks his chops and rubs his hands; why Phoebe is p'd off; how in the world did we get to 2021 and Matt is the first (!?) black bachelor; whether you should pray or vibrate first; and other truly captivating issues. It's gonna be a wacky journey watching MJ try to find true love!
Special Guest Appearances by Brother Tommy, Marvel the Husky, and The Boyfriend.

The Newbies are in disbelief that their newbie podcast journey is winding down after successfully recording TWELVE episodes! The Newbies are all together because Claire is back home for Spring Break. In the episode, Phoebe accidentally discloses Claire's "undisclosed location" but Claire plans to hide it in the edit. :)
As Matt James ends his love journey with an uncomfortably long vacant stare on ATFR, the Newbies discuss all kinds of topics about this 3 hour finale including big applause for the bachelorette choices in Michelle and Katie; how Matt can't help touching women's legs even after he breaks up with them; how the producers were so mean to have Rachael dress up for a date that they knew Matt was NOT showing up for; the surprise realization that the Bachelor can actually end without a proposal yet still end with a carriage ride; more on the layered racism controversy and the pressure Matt is feeling on how best to handle his response to his relationship with Rachael and the overall controversy; and the aspects of Matt James as leading man that the Newbies both loved and didn't love. :) And more.
Special quick guest appearance by Marvel the Husky, Tommy and some random loud noises on the table.
Thank you to all of our loyal listeners! We will see what's next in our podcasting journey! Stay tuned for our own version of After the Final Episode!

As a warning - this episode discusses some sexual themes that border on explicit; and other topics like abuse, prostitution, and stripping.
Happy New Year to our fierce BNN fan base that built steadily over 2021 and one that we hope to continue to grow as we follow Clayton's Love Journey! The Newbies are proud to announce that that they have their own nation - Bachelor Nation Newbies Nation! BNNN! :)
This first episode was a bit of a doozy for the Newbies as Leane, Claire and Phoebe found themselves suddenly in intense uncharted waters. As stated before, the Newbies get into some sexual themes that border on explicit (Leane is still traumatized from it); and other topics such as abuse, prostitution, and stripping. Phoebe still can't believe the Newbies dove into such deep waters during EPISODE ONE!
It's a different sounding episode as Leane was in Arizona visiting her parents while Claire and Phoebe were together holding down the fort in LA with Tommy. A few technical issues do pop up along the way but the newbies manage to have a thought provoking conversation with topics such as:
Reactions to Jesse Palmer as the new host and Clayton as The Bachelor; Why did Salley with an "e" get so much screen time?; Isn't it time The Bachelor franchise shows more diversity in every way? Body type included please?; How do we all feel about sending out older Holly as a "joke" to be Rachel's wingwoman?; Is Leane even a feminist?; and SO MUCH MORE!
Special guest appearances by Tommy's whistling; Leane's Dad and the kids' Grandpa; and some minor technical difficulties.
Here's to LOVE!

Oh wow - after a too long absence of their podcasting life due mainly to technical difficulties and also some summer living - the Newbies return with a Sunday breakfast chat to talk about the invigorating last couple episodes of Katie's love journey. It takes a minute for the Newbies to get back into a groove, but they were determined to keep extraneous noise to a minimum and to hit all the important topics of the last two episodes.
Topics include - is kissing all that it's cracked up to be when it comes to finding true love?; the confusing WOWO challenge; the crazy EQ and bromance aspect of this particular group of guys with Tre crying real tears over Connor's departure; Blake being the producers' boy toy to get him to do whatever they want him to do; Who exactly is Brendan?; Greg's enthusiasm for rain kisses and was that fish toss done with a real or rubber fish??; how much we can't believe that Mike P believed that telling Katie she reminds him of his mom was a good idea; why did Mike P have to walk off barefoot in his "angel fit" as if he was leaving a cult?; and how much we can NOT STAND that Andrew S is gone... and more.
Special guest appearances by Marvel the Husky; Tommy the keyboard player; and Ethan - the boyfriend.

The Newbies were all confident that this episode recorded on Tuesday would be up on Tuesday night but alas here we are releasing it on Thursday. :)
In Episode 11, the Newbies face a new challenge when Phoebe decides she has to "dip" out of finishing the conversation. Despite the mediation effort that Leane puts forth to keep the trio chatting, for the first time ever, Claire and Leane end up having to finish the podcast. And it's just not the same without Phoebes. :)
But in the course of the episode, the Newbies touch on topics that include: whether or not the conversation between Matt and his Dad contributed to a stereotype in the Black community or if it's just Matt's truth and that is all that matters; whether all of the final woman could have handled the butter rubbing spa date as well as Michelle did; how Rachel getting in her head was a good example of how we all get into our head sometimes; the benefits of physically "shaking it off" and getting into your body when you are in your head; and whether or not each of us has "my person." And more of course.
As Claire reflects on the BNN journey that is coming to a close, she states - "Even though The Bachelor is trash tv, we can still learn something from it."
Special guest appearance by the sound of Phoebe's footsteps. And special shout out to Claire's VO to help us understand what was going on in this episode.

The Newbies can NOT believe that Zach's journey is over and that he and Kaity are happily skipping off together into the Austin sunset! The season has been more fun than the Newbies ever expected and we're sad to see Zach's wacky journey come to a close.
All kinds of topics are discussed including how has Kaity NOT gotten the ick factor yet?; the power of mentor Sean's segment during the 3-hour finale; and WHY is the finale THREE hours???; what a queen Ariel is over and over again; the continued confusion as to why on earth did Zach make his no sex promise and then tell Kaity and not tell Ariel?; how much Leane loves Gabi for saying she and Zach's interlude was "beyond the TV show"; and how disappointed The Newbies are that Zach told everyone after he told her it would be "just between us!!" And more!!!
Thank you for joining us on another crazy journey of Bachelor love - rate and review us PLEASE and look out for a special BNN Off Season!
Here's to love!! Bye for now!!

In the immediate aftermath of the FINALE of The Bachelor, the Newbies press record and try to lift their chins off the ground to discuss all that transpired in the frozen tundra and beyond of Clayton's love journey.
How Clayton managed to pull off this last Hail Mary/upset in this installment of The Bachelor to find win is beyond the Newbies. But somehow he did.
The Newbies discuss everything from how much they love Gabby to how Leane wishes Rachel wouldn't have spent so much emotional energy on Clayton to whether or not Clayton likes "mommy love" to the utterly shocking reappearance of Susie and so much more.
Thanks for sticking with us through Season FOUR and the Newbies will see everyone for Gabby and Rachel's Bachelorette season!!!
