In this episode, I share an incident that I had with someone who I was interviewing for this podcast. I decided not to air the episode, and you will hear the reasons why. Instead, I share some reflections about the interaction. I share this because I don't want to perpetuate cancel culture and the cycle of harm. When we don't communicate with each other, nobody learns and grows. I feel very strongly that having uncomfortable conversations is the only way we're going to move forward. I also want to be very clear in my values and my intentions. Thank you to Niza Disla for helping me to articulate my thoughts and feelings in writing. I hope you enjoy this episode. Originally from Rio, Roberta was a practicing lawyer in Brazil and New York before committing to teaching Yoga & Meditation full time. In 2008, she decided to follow her spiritual calling and moved to an Ashram (a spiritual retreat site) in upstate New York, where she lived for 2 years. This experience was incredibly transformative and it prompted her to quit Law to teach Yoga full time. Fast forward 10 years into Spiritual Teaching, she founded “Salt & Spirit Wellness" a wellness studio in Vancouver, BC, now closed after the pandemic. With the closure of their brick and mortar studio, a new idea and concept was birthed: Salt & Spirit Collective, expanding their vision worldwide. Her mission is to make transformative spiritual practices approachable and grounded, part of your daily life. Though this was her story, Roberta believes and teaches that you don’t have to quit your job and move to an Ashram in order to find balance. She teaches that spiritual life is not that different from the worldly life - it is just one life, and these aspects can, and should be integrated. In This Episode We Talk About:
  • The difference between manifestation and co-creating your reality.
  • The fated life vs. destiny.
  • Can you erase a part of your past timeline?
  • Roberta's steps in how she shifts her reality.
  • Her definition of high vibration and why it's an important process of consciously co-creating.
  • What is deja vu?

This episode is a collaboration between Awaken & Align and Abolitionist Dreamscapes. We are living during a time when our old systems and paradigms are being dismantled. Our main intention for this episode is to explore, how can we reimagine and co-create a different reality. Our conversation weaves through topics of astrology, abolition, dreams, activism, and spiritual awakening. Abolitionist Dreamscape, led by Dr. Nicole Truesdell, is a space to deconstruct the mindsets blocking us from being our authentic Self AND a place to imagine, dream, and conjure a life without the systems of capitalism, governments, and generational trauma that created the person we perform to be for the world. As an anthropologist by training, abolitionist scholar and teacher in practice, and practicing Western Tropical Astrologer Dr. Nicole Truesdell helps people make sense of their journey to Self through private 1:1 sessions and Astrology readings, her Podcast, Patreon, social media accounts, public talks and seminars, Salon Conversations, and creative projects.

With a background in anthropology, Dr. Truesdell uses her knowledge to deconstruct societal mindsets and imagine a world without oppressive systems governing us. Dr. Truesdell obtained her Ph.D. in Anthropology from Michigan State University in 2011, specializing in race, racism, citizenship, and the nation-state. She combines her anthropological expertise with her training as a practicing Western Tropical Astrologer to help individuals understand their journey to self. Her multidisciplinary approach allows her to bridge the gap between academia and spirituality, offering a unique perspective that challenges existing norms and encourages individuals to imagine a world free from oppressive systems. Dr. Truesdell's passion lies in her commitment to social change and the belief in the transformative power of imagination and dreaming.
