Between 1986 and 1989, the Colonial Parkway thoroughfare in Virginia served as a suspected serial killer’s hunting grounds. The killer or killers responsible for the Colonial Parkway murders targeted couples as they sat in their vehicles, each incident taking two lives at a time. Six people are confirmed dead and another couple remains missing and presumed killed.

From plane crashes to assassinations, overdoses to terrible illness, the Kennedy family has been struck by a bizarre amount of devastating tragedies over the years. After a car crash in 1969, Ted Kennedy, who had by this point lost 4 of his siblings under tragic circumstances, wondered aloud if “some awful curse did actually hang over all the Kennedys”.
The sheer number of tragic illnesses and deaths involving the family has led many to deem them ‘cursed’ in some respect. The tragedies suffered by the Kennedys, combined with their glamour, ambition, and power, have captured the imagination of people across the world for decades.

The story of Penn State University graduate student Betsy Aardsma’s unsolved murder has haunted the campus as a kind of urban legend for more than five decades. Although told as a ghost story, those who investigated fear that her very real murder is being forgotten.
On Thanksgiving weekend 1969, 22-year-old Betsy was murdered by a single stab wound to the chest in the stacks of the Pattee Library. Her killer has never been caught.

I'm doing something a little different and letting you in on some paranormal experiences that I've had that help explain why I am the way that I am. This isn’t creepypasta, I haven’t made any of this up, these are all very REAL retellings of what I’ve experienced.
If you've had similar experiences, please send them my way and I'll read them in an upcoming episode!

When 16-year-old Jeanette DePalma's body was found on a cliff aptly named The Devil's Teeth, the police were sure that her murder was related to witchcraft. There was Satanic and occult imagery surrounding her badly decomposed body. The only problem is, many of the people who viewed the crime scene claim that no such symbolism existed. This is a twisted case of Satanic Panic that leads into serial killer territory. On December 1, 2007, John Darwin walked into a West End Central London police station and calmly told an officer, “I think I’m a missing person”. This was a bold claim coming from a man who had been declared legally dead in 2003. This is the strange and twisted almost-fairytale of Canoe Man.

On Feb. 19, 2013, a maintenance worker at the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles made a gruesome discovery in the building's main water tank: the body of missing 21-year-old Canadian student, and hotel guest, Elisa Lam. Hotel guests had been complaining of foul-smelling water and low pressure, which prompted a search of the tanks. In the days prior to her disappearance, Elisa had exhibited odd behaviors, which got her removed from her shared room. Once the LAPD got involved, found footage of Elisa in the hotel elevator was released to the public and the conspiracy theories surrounding her death began. But what really happened to Elisa Lam? On New Year's Day 1986, the body of 28-year-old Deborah Ann Wolfe was found at the bottom of a small irrigation pond outside her isolated cabin near Fort Bragg in North Carolina. She lived there, roughly 4 miles from the Fayetteville city limits, with her dogs. In conflicting reports, divers initially said they located her body inside a barrel. But local officials claim there was no barrel and called her death an accidental drowning.

A good mixture of facts and humor. I love that this series travels around to different regions and features different topics each time. Cryptids, Urban Legends and True Crime…Autumn has it all. Give this series a try.
