The Language of Flirting
08/01/22 • 24 min
Is that person just being friendly? Or are they being...more than friendly? To find out, we have to be able to read the verbal and non-verbal cues intrinsic to the language of flirting. In this episode we hear from researchers, dating coaches and flirt interpreters (a real job!) to unpack the many ways in which we approach what is perhaps one of the most intimidating tasks: telling someone we’re attracted to them.
Thank you for listening to Atlas Linguae, where we dive deep into translation and communication. This podcast was produced by Studio Ochenta.

The language of Masculinity
One of the subjects that men have the hardest time talking about...is themselves, more specifically, their emotions and vulnerabilities. In this episode, we talk to experts who help us break down the communication of masculinity. We discuss how language often accentuates a need to show strength as a sign of “manliness,” and we explore how one of the best ways to break down communication barriers between men is to open up dialog spaces to listen to, and relate to, each other’s experiences.
