AALP 238 – Untethering Your Money Story, A Case Study
Art of Abundance with Leisa Peterson
08/12/19 • 43 min
Today’s podcast is a deep dive excursion that a client of mine and I took recently to uncover the beliefs that were holding her back in her business and relationships. This work is an extension of my Mindful Millionaire Group Coaching Intensive that helps people to not only uncover their money story, but break free of the limiting and lack-based patterns that have been governing their life thus far.
One of the participants was so excited about how this work has affected her life and business, she volunteered to come on the show and do the work together to reveal the inside scoop of one of the many ways this work that will be featured in my upcoming book leads to life-changing breakthroughs.During this episode, you’ll hear the exact process I guide my clients through after we’ve identified a limiting money belief — in this case her beliefs were causing her to procrastinate in her business and with other endeavors that are deeply meaningful to her life. You’ll witness the healing process in action while considering just how stuck we can become in our own stories of limitation and lack. My hope is that by listening to this conversation you’ll have your own epiphanies and breakthroughs around limiting beliefs that have been holding you back from creating the life you dream about. At the end of the conversation, you’ll hear how my client, who also happens to be a therapist, has used my methods and teachings to create a whole new reality for herself — with her money, her business and, most importantly, within the relationship she has with herself.
Please be sure to leave your comments about limiting beliefs and the realizations that come up for you as you listen in. I’d love to hear what you think and how this helps you to learn more about yourself

AALP 205 – Mindful Money with Jonathan DeYoe
Art of Abundance with Leisa Peterson
07/13/18 • 26 min
Today’s guest is Jonathan K. DeYoe who is a California-based financial adviser and a longtime Buddhist practitioner.
By listening in, you’ll learn:
-The 3 critical decisions Jonathan had to make to get his life back on track.
-The connection between happiness and money.
-Considerations for anyone looking to work with a financial advisor.
-How to create more peace of mind when it comes to money and investing.
Jonathan spent his first six of twenty years as a financial adviser working for Wall Street firms. Seeking to create a more independent platform, he started DeYoe Wealth Management with 6 clients in 2002. Today, the firm manages nearly $300 million for just over two hundred families and non-profits. He says, “I do my best face-to-face work in that place of hope for a better future, where love and money overlap.”
Jonathan started HappinessDividend.com as a way to provide his brand of behavioral wealth education and advice to a broader audience through a digital platform. There is a ton of free content, worksheets, videos, and e-classes. There are also planning and aggregation tools for the DIY crowd and a digital advisor that marries Jonathan’s management process with YOUR portfolio philosophy (Low-Cost; Outperform; or Social Responsibility).
Perhaps most importantly, Jonathan keeps a long-term perspective that is missing from the day to day market and economic data. He writes and speaks regularly in an effort to reduce the noise and bring a calming influence to the craze of financial media. His written work can be found in Business Insider, Huffington Post, Yahoo! Finance, SF Business Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Motley Fool, NerdWallet, and MindBodyGreen. He speaks regularly at Universities and Conferences, corporate all-hands meetings and non-profits fundraisers.
His twin goals are to help busy people lead more meaningful lives and to spread the benefits of regular mindfulness practice for both well-being and better financial outcomes.
Jonathan lives in Berkeley with his wife and two children. His book, Mindful Money: Simple Practices for Reaching Your Financial Goals and Increasing Your Happiness Dividend is available in local book stores and, of course, on Amazon.

AOMW 080 – Love and Money with Macy Matarazzo

I recently read a quote by my friend and love coach, Macy Matarazzo
that said “You have a LONGING in your heart for true love... it is
part of your destiny & you can learn how to get there. No exceptions“. I love this because it is how I feel about both love and abundance.
We can have it all and no one should be left out of this equation!
I am always amazed at how much our relationships with people have in common with our relationship with money which is why I asked Macy to join me in this podcast discussion.
Macy and her husband, Larry worked with me when I was first starting my money coaching practice and so it was fun to explore what we had learned about the love and money similarities and the power of increasing our consciousness around these two important aspects of life.
During this conversation you will learn what happens when we learn to trust more and control less. How by learning more about ourselves, we learn about how to become better entrepreneurs, better lovers and better people.
You’ll also hear some of the most important lessons we’ve gained in our respective journeys to master the art of love and money and how much of a difference this has made in the quality of our lives.
Enjoy!!!

AALP 178 – A New Atlantis
Art of Abundance with Leisa Peterson
12/13/17 • 13 min
Nearly two decades ago I set out to explore what it really takes to create a life you love.
Eventually inviting others to join in the “experiment” by attending my meditation classes, mentorship, retreats, masterminds, and financially focused workshops while testing how it would translate into the lives of others.
Along the way learning the how’s, why’s and what’s for unearthing one’s potential to live a spiritually vibrant and financially prosperous life.
The pathway has been filled with unexpected twists and turns and cannot be found in any one book or methodology — instead appearing like a kaleidoscope of beliefs and experiences that change shape as you move through life with a heightened value on spiritual purity, morality and incorruptibility.
Over the past three 1/2 years I’ve coached and mentored business owners, sales professionals, corporations and even a few non-profits and what I have learned is that there is a need for my gifts of thinking outside of the box while helping business owners and influencers do three critical things:
- Optimize how they spend their time and what they work on so they maximize their income and profitability while tapping into their deepest passions,
- Get out of their own way when it comes to creating an abundant life and business.
- Collaborate, connect and contribute within a group of like-minded peers who share similar goals and aspirations.
Additionally I’ve seen how to valuable it is for people to quickly and dramatically drop the stories of judgement, lack of compassion and self-sabotage so they improve their relationship with themselves, their family, their colleagues and their clients — and are in a position to live their best life everyday.
Regularly engaging in trusting and respectful groups that hold space for mindfulness and awareness building, reflective exercises, emotional healing and meaningful discussion teaches us how to maintain our level of attention and intention without falling off the wagon or if we do, we’re able to quickly bring ourselves back to feelings of joy.
There is magic that comes through groups that dates back to our ancestry in tribes who gathered around the fire to connect, debrief and enjoy the company of each other — it is like we are wired to work together and find our highest truths through these interactions.
Working together is what these times are calling of us — tapping into the combined natural power of many rather than the force needed by one to effect results. The momentum gained by the collective, with each person evidencing their own natural brilliance, is what will change the world of the future.
Granted not everyone feels the pull of this way of being — but for some of us we discover that the more we become our truest selves, the more we’re drawn to the power of creating as part of collaborative groups.
All of this brings me to sharing what I am creating for the new year...
It’s called The Atlas Collective — and it is a community dedicated to changing the world by helping members unearth their fullest potential and soar to new heights financially, emotionally and spiritually.
This is a collaborative project designed to explore the psychological and spiritual aspects of what it means to be in the world as a leader and change maker but not be “of it”. Members commit, both individually and collectively, to model and embody the kind of behavior in their daily lives and communities. Members also recognize that such embodiment requires great patience and maturity and they agree to support each other through the challenges that this path entails.
The various teachings and methodology to be explored represent a tested path for individuals and groups to advance to a higher level of consciousness while becoming unshakeable in one’s financial well-being. This is achieved through the recognition and transmutation of one’s own behavior patterns through self awareness, daily practical application and deep contemplation. Members of the Collective thus have a high sense of personal accountability and a gentle humility that always tries to see the very best in others, regardless of circumstances.
The benefits you can expect by participating in the program include:
- New friendships that align with your unique perspective about life and it’s lessons
- New ideas that support your own personal growth and evolution
- New ideas that support your client’s growth and evolution
- Strategies that help you to increase your income and wealth creation
- Reinforcement to stay on track to your highest principles and ideals — so that your actions are coming from your best self
- Ability to practice and the...

Having the opportunity to meet with Anodea is a great honor — she’s been studying the chakras for many years and was more than happy to talk about how it applies to what is happening in the world today. Our conversation cannot help but inspire you about the future and your own potential to improve your life for the better.
“Obstacles do not appear in your way in order to stop you. Rather, they appear in order to strengthen and hone you and your plans. They are not your enemy. They are your secret ally, but only if you treat them as friendly forces of nature.” ― Anodea Judith, Creating on Purpose,
During my interview Anodea shares: -How the chakra system works as a framework for your life. -What you can do to regularly upgrade your “operating system” so that you are able to live fully and freely. -How wealth is not the same thing as money and the ways we can be living a rich life without a lot of money. -How there is no limitation to consciousness and how the chakras play into this understanding. ******************************************* Anodea holds Masters and Doctoral degrees in Psychology and Human Health, is a 500 hour registered yoga teacher (E-RYT), with lifelong studies of psychology, mythology, sociology, history, systems theory, and mystic spirituality. AALP 120 – Breaking Free of Scarcity Beliefs
Art of Abundance with Leisa Peterson
01/28/17 • -1 min
Ever had the thought that you cannot make money following your passion? Of perhaps you are an artist or creative person who subscribes to the belief that most artists struggle financially. I’ve found this belief to be quite common — not just for creatives but for those of us who are bringing our spiritual discoveries into the world.
The good news is that none of those beliefs are really true — there are plenty of people who thrive financially when following their passion. However, if you retain beliefs that keep you thinking about the struggle, it becomes difficult to break through to the success you know in your heart you are destined to fulfill. Today’s conversation brings you into my world of helping people break free of their limiting beliefs especially when it comes to financial and business topics.
I’ll start by saying that this conversation did NOT work out as I planned. We ended up recovering and releasing limiting beliefs that were so deeply personal I realized it would be too much to share the full conversation as part of the podcast. So instead of airing it I sat with it for a few months. My guest Ellen would check in from time to time to encourage me to share it with you because of how much it had helped her and I told her I would hold the space for what felt right in time. Recently it became clear to have her back on the show to fill in the pieces of what happened after the session so I could create a before and after transformation experience for listeners.
Often times we think our beliefs are fairly straightforward — that if we believe artists are going to struggle financially then all we have to do is figure out where that belief came from. Instead what happens is the creation of the belief comes as a result of a convoluted series of events that we make meaning out of. Getting to the root of the belief is where things get quite magical. Most of the time is it like a scavenger hunt and you aren’t quite sure how the pieces connect to one another. This is where having the ability to surrender to your inner guidance takes over. I am fortunate to receive this guidance in the form of pictures (clairvoyance), sounds (clairaudience) and sensations (clairsentience) — all of what combine to bring myself and my clients on a journey of discovery. Once the root of the belief is found then we can go about clearing that energy through understanding, compassion, allowance and connection to a higher power.
I would love to hear your comments and feedback to see if you’d like me to share more of these conversations in the future. While this edited version is far from perfect, I trust there will be good things that come by our sharing.
Big Hugs, Leisa

AALP 110 – Bringing Your A Game with Todd Herman
Art of Abundance with Leisa Peterson
11/27/16 • -1 min
I’m So Excited!! Todd Herman, THE mentor who has inspired me to take my business from ‘okay’ to a thriving coaching practice in about 6 months and increase my profitability by about 400% is here to share his wisdom with you!
Todd Herman is a performance coach extraordinare and creator of the 90 Day Year program — a program that changed lives for the better as a result of helping entrepreneurs become way more effective in how they DO business.
Todd could have easily kept what he learned about peak performance while working with professional and olympic athletes and only made it available to his high paying clients but instead he created a program that helps all of us operate at our peak potential.
During this powerful and dynamic conversation, Todd shares:
- The difference between entrepreneurs who are going to be successful and those that aren’t.
- How Todd created a program that can serve so many different levels of business while being far from suitable for everyone.
- The mental skills that will always make the biggest impact in the success of your business.
- The mindset behind creating win/win partnerships.
- Why the 90 Day Program has a way of bringing all your mental garbage to the forefront to be dealt with (and why that is going to help you become more successful).
Scoring this interview with Todd was a big deal. I even got choked up when it hit me just how big of a difference the 90 Day Year has made in my life and how cool it was to share my experiences with Todd directly.
I am sucker for any and all success stories and I’ll admit that it is extra cool when it is your own. Which is why I am such a fanatic about inviting people to learn more about Todd and the amazing work he is doing in the world.
As you may know, I am not one who does much in the way of affiliate marketing. I get invitations all the time but it just hasn’t resonated with me and I won’t promote things that I am not investing in personally. So when I got the opportunity to bring Todd’s work to you, I jumped at the opportunity because I am proud to partner with someone who does group coaching really well and backs it up with incredible values that are deeply aligned with my own.
My clients already know how much I appreciate this program and I strongly encourage you to check it out. I am compensated for my promotion of the program and love this opportunity as it helps me to keep doing more of what I do best.
So here’s what you can do now: Listen to the Podcast by Clicking Below...
