Arizona Podcast

Another chance to share time with an ol' friend. I joined America's Storyteller Jim Hinckley on his Live podcast "Coffee With Jim" on Sunday morning July 14, 2024 and wanted to share his podcast with you. I'm honored to have built a wonderful working and personal friendship with Jim the last couple of years and can't wait to celebrate the Centennial of Route 66 in 2026. To learn more about Jim and Jim Hinkley's America, please visit https://jimhinckleysamerica.com/

From Jim Hinckley's America Website:

On today's program it's a free range, smile inducing, road trip inspiring discussion with Chris Tuttle about the changing face of broadcasting, road trips, the allure of Route 66, podcasting, and how to engage a younger generation. Chris is the developer of the acclaimed Arizona Podcast, and the fascinating Mother Road Minute.

After a 30 year career in southern California broadcasting Chris and his wife Mary relocated to Arizona. They became enamored with the state as well as Route 66, and that was the inspiration for his road trip inspiring podcast and programs.

Today's program is sponsored in part by RouteTrip USA, the bespoke road trip holiday specialists for an adventure in the United States of Canada. It is also sponsored by the iconic Wagon Wheel Motel in Cuba, Missouri, and the living time capsules that are the Roadrunenr Lodge Motel in Tucumcari, New Mexico and the Cactus Inn Motel in McLean, Texas. Also counted among the sponsors of Jim Hinckley's America is the Uranus Fudge Company & General Store, and Route 66 Navigation.

Stephanie Stuckey, CEO Stuckey's Corporation

In this edition of the #ArizonaPodcast we talk with the CEO of Stuckey's Corporation, Stephanie Stuckey. We talk about her past, present and the future of Stuckey's! More fun on the great American road trip and the celebration of the Mother Road, Route 66.

Stephanie Stuckey is the Chair of Stuckey’s, the roadside oasis famous for its pecan log rolls. The company was founded by Stephanie’s grandfather, W.S. Stuckey, Sr., as a pecan stand in Eastman, GA in 1937 and grew to over 350 stores across the country. The company was sold in 1964 but is now back in family hands and making a comeback. Stephanie took over the company in November of 2019 and, under her leadership, Stuckey’s has purchased a pecan-shelling and candy-manufacturing facility in Wrens, GA, revamped its distribution operations based in Eastman, GA, acquired a healthy pecan-snack company, rebranded its products and website, added four new franchised stores, expanded its B2B retail customer base, and increased online sales 550% — all while weathering the COVID-19 pandemic. Stephanie received both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia. She has worked as a trial lawyer, was elected to seven terms as a state representative, ran an environmental nonprofit law firm that settled the largest Clean Water Act case in Georgia history, served as Director of Sustainability and Resilience for the City of Atlanta, and taught as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia School of Law. Stephanie’s achievements include being named one of the 100 Most Influential Georgians by Georgia Trend Magazine, as well as graduating from Leadership Atlanta. A longstanding member of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, she is active in her community and serves on many nonprofit boards, including the Initiative for Affordable Housing, EarthShare of Georgia, and her local zoning review board.

"Live From The Main Street Of America" | Kingman AZ | Arizona Route 66

In this edition of the #ArizonaPodcast we celebrate our very first "LIVE" interactive podcast with our new segment "Live from The Main Street Of America" in Kingman, AZ. Along for the ride is special guest co-host co-host Jim from Jim Hinckley's America.

Note that this show didn't go as planned at all with a handful of errors on my part. I forgot the computer that would have provided out livestream to our Youtube Channel and Facebook Page and the house monitor system so those joining us live at Calico's Restaurant in Kingman we unable to hear the chat-room guests. I will make sure to have a better checklist for future live shows.... trust me.

Guests in this podcast include Ken Large from Roys' Motel and Cafe in Amboy California with an update on the construction and preparation for the 2026 Route 66 Centennial. Winslow Mayor Roberta "Birdie" Cano with big news and spotlighting the upcoming 25th Anniversary of the "Standin' On The Corner" festival.
