Ever feel like you missed something important when it comes to the news? A fact, a detail, or an event that it feels like everyone else knows about, and now you'd look like a moron if you asked someone to explain? Well, here's a podcast that will ask those questions so you don't have to.
This week Danielle Ward is joined once again by Anand Menon, director of the UK In A Changing Europe think tank, to explain what's gone on with Brexit since we last spoke in series one. Danielle is joined by comedians Alice Fraser (Tea With Alice, The Bugle) and John-Luke Roberts (Spats, Bull).
Questions asked and answered include:
- Will there be a No Deal?
- What's happened to all those Brexit secretaries?
- Is Brexit just a scam to avoid tax?
- Should we be stockpiling?
....so if you've sort of been guessing the answers based on a gut feeling, why not listen and find out for sure? And then subscribe to stay equally informed about other issues, as we get around to them.
All our guests are on Twitter, so go and say hello - @aliterative, @jlukeroberts and @anandmenon1, and Danielle is @captainward. The show itself now has a Twitter account: @AnyStupidQs. Follow it for information about upcoming episodes, recordings, and extra bits of the show that had to be cut for any reason.

Series 3 is coming...
Look, we know how it is. The news has been saying stuff like "quantitative easing" and "the backstop" and "nationalisation" and "cows" for ages and you just nodded like you understood and now it's too late to ask without looking stupid. Luckily Danielle Ward is here for you, with her guest comedians, to ask experts the questions that reveal that they've not really been paying enough attention up til now - but from now on they, and you, will be able to follow current affairs with confidence.
We've already done two series, covering subjects like the NHS, Brexit and Northern Ireland; series three will cover Banks, Elections, The Police and, because it doesn't seem to have sorted itself out since we last spoke about it, Brexit again. Oh, and farming.
Check out our back catalogue, and subscribe now to make sure you don't miss an episode - the new series will be released weekly on Sunday evenings from the 10th February, 2019.

Any Stupid Questions about... Trains?
Ever feel like you missed something important when it comes to the news? A fact, a detail, or an event that it feels like everyone else knows about, and now you'd look like a moron if you asked someone to explain? Well, here's a podcast that will ask those questions so you don't have to.
This week Danielle Ward is joined by Nicole Badstuber, who researches and writes about transport policy, to explain how trains work in the UK or, more to the point, why they don't. Danielle is joined by comedy writers Sarah Morgan (Wilsons Save The World, Not Going Out, The Fear) and Joel Morris (The Ladybird Books for Grown-Ups, Rule of Three, Philomena Cunk).
Questions asked and answered include:
- Why are the trains so buggered?
- What's stopping someone from starting a new rail service?
- Why are trains given more attention than buses?
- Can you flush the toilet while the train is in the station?
....so if you've sort of been guessing the answers based on a gut feeling, why not listen and find out for sure? And then subscribe to stay equally informed about other issues, as we get around to them.
