So, as we are closing out the year, I share with you personal lessons, I have learned, especially in the last few days of the year with lots of travel. Listen to this episode as you picture the Home Alone scenes of the family running through airports and losing their son Kevin. Fortunately, I did not lose my sons but we all chuckled as we understood that Home Alone movie didn’t seem so unrealistic any longer. The good news we did make it to our destination, but it was with lots of creativeness and flexibility. The timing of things in our life sometimes don’t make sense, but then we understand why we encounter them. I had just read Marie Forleo’s book, Everything is Figureoutable and thanks to that I was able to figure out how to navigate the different problems we encountered. I knew my goal was to make it to our destination, and we succeeded.

So now you are on a new journey where your child is going to start preschool or elementary school, but you are unsure of what this means. In this episode, I discuss Christmas traditions with family and friends. Family isn't always just blood relatives, sometimes friends are your family. This is important for your children to see modeled. In addition, I share with you that my household traditions have become a mixture of childhood experiences and new memories I am creating with my boys and husband. In this episode I share with you ways to teach our children about mindfulness and gratitude, and I explore some personal experiences where I have been able to use them as a teaching opportunity. It is not necessary to make many changes but one small change a day can have a huge impact on others. A good rule of thumb can be; Did you do something to help another person smile? Our children are small but they see our behaviors and our habits therefore, if we create positive ones we are impacting our community and ensuring we are leaving it better than we found it.
