Pedro Rodrigues Filho has been dubbed the real life Dexter. Like that of Dexter, Filho would target men who were criminals. Filho is thought to have killed over 100 people, some while in prison.
Filho would be released and try and educate young men to understand that crime does not pay.

Between 1969 and 1980 Pedro Lopez would terrorise the young girls of Columbia, Peru and Ecuador. It is said that he raped and murdered up to 450 girls. In 1998 he was released from prison and to this day no-one knows where he is.

The Genesee River Killer - Arthur Shawcross

Richard Speck

On July 13th, 1966, mass murderer known as Richard Speck would enter the home of a group of nurses in a South Chicago townhouse.
He took all the nurses as hostages and would murder all but one. They were Gloria Davy, Patricia Matusek, Nina Schmale, Pamela Wilkening, Suzanne Farris, Mary Ann Jordan, Merlita Gargullo, and Valentina Pasion and survivor Corazon Amurao.

The Villisca Axe Murders

On June 10th, 1912, the brutally murdered bodies of 8 people, 2 adults and 6 children, were found inside a family home in Iowa. To this day it remains a mystery as to who committed this murder. The house was occupied by the Moore family.
The Moore family was headed by local businessman, Josiah B. Moore. He was married to Sarah Moore and had 4 children. Herman, Mary, Arthur and Paul. In 1903 Josiah would move his family into a 3 bedroom home on 2nd street in Villisca, Iowa not too far from Des Moines.
Unfortunately despite all the potential leads it never got resolved. To this day no one has ever been convicted for the crime.

The Trailside Killer - David Carpenter

Between 1979 and 1981 a serial killer David Joseph Carpenter, would murder, rape, kidnap and rob multiple people. While he was apprehended in May of 1981, this was not the first time he had a brush with the law.
While the exact figure of how many he murdered is unknown, it is said to be between 7 and 11. He was found guilty and sent to San Quentin Prison. As of today, David Carpenter sits on death row since being sentenced to death in 1984. He is 94 years old.
