Amityville (Horror or Hoax?)
American Hauntings Podcast
12/10/24 • 100 min
To tell the story of this once very famous haunted house seems like it should be simple, oh, but it’s not. In fact, there’s nothing simple about this story at all. But I’m not going to tell you what to believe. I get it – every story gets started for a reason, even if that reason is greed. But believe it or not, there is much about this story that has the potential to be the truth. What part of it? I guess we’ll see...

The Village That Vanished
American Hauntings Podcast
04/19/22 • 75 min
In the wilds of northwestern Connecticut are the remains of a small village called Dudleytown. The homes of this once thriving community are long gone, but the land where the town once stood is far from empty. Amidst the forest and rocks are tales of ghosts, demons, unexplained mysteries, curses, and a rich history that dates back to the very beginnings of America.

The American Witch
American Hauntings Podcast
01/25/22 • 85 min
Salem was far from the only "witchcraft outbreak" in American history. Witches – falsely accused and the real thing – can be found throughout the early history of America, from healers to herbalists, hex signs, and hoodoo doctors. And in some cases of accused witches, murder and death followed in the wake of public outcry. Here's what happened.

Death In New Orleans
American Hauntings Podcast
03/24/20 • 76 min
There are 38 cemeteries in New Orleans, so there’s no way that we can get to them all. Instead, we’ll focus on the history of death, burials, and boneyards in the city and then take a closer look at the cemetery that is the most popular among tourists. Of course, just using those two words together – “cemetery” and “tourist” – says a lot what kind of traveler embraces New Orleans. I’m thinking that it’s a lot like the kind of listener that never misses this podcast.

The Many Haunts Of Rudolph Valentino
American Hauntings Podcast
10/05/21 • 28 min
On August 23, 1926, the most heartbreaking Hollywood news of the silent film era reached the general public when New York City’s Polyclinic Hospital announced that Rudolph Valentino was dead.
Valentino -- known as the “Sheik” and “Hollywood’s Greatest Lover” – had died from a burst appendix. It seemed too boring of a death for a man like Valentino and, not surprisingly, rumors followed him to the grave.
