August 2020 Book Club: Matt & Chris dust off the TARDIS Timer to bring you a review of “Short Trips and Side Steps,” which was the third & final book in the original “Short Trips” anthology range. This collection was published by BBC Books in March 2000 and features 21 short stories - or 24 depending on how you count them - and was edited by Stephen Cole & Jacqueline Rayner.

July 2020 Book Club: The Seventh Doctor, accompanied by Benny, sees what it’s like to be a human schoolteacher in 1914 - while trying to avoid a power-hungry alien family in pursuit! Chris & Matt review “Human Nature” by Paul Cornell, originally published in May 1995 as part of the New Adventures line. The novel was republished in 2015 as part of the History Collection and is available digitally on iBooks, Kindle, etc. An unabridged audiobook, performed by Lisa Bowerman, is available on CD & download (iTunes, Audible, etc.) This story was also adapted as a Tenth Doctor two-part story for television in Series 3.

June 2020 Book Club: Matt & Chris fire up their 300 baud modems and rendezvous with the Sixth Doctor & Peri - in 1981 - as we read the book “Blue Box” by Kate Orman. Originally published in March 2003 as part of BBC’s Past Doctor range, the book is still available for purchase digitally on Kindle.

May 2020 Book Club: Chris & Matt take a stroll through a dark and scary wood along with the 11th Doctor, Amy & Rory as we review “The Way through the Woods” by Una McCormack. Originally published in April 2011, the book is still available for purchase digitally and on unabridged audio, read by Clare Corbett.

April 2020 Book Club: We’re journeying with the 10th Doctor this month as he encounters a group of bounty hunters in pursuit of his deadliest enemy - the Daleks! We’re reading “Prisoner of the Daleks” by Trevor Baxendale, originally published in April 2009. The book is widely available in several different editions, including an unabridged audiobook performed by Nicholas Briggs.
