Peter makes a drastic decision before giving up his life as Spider-Man completely in order to hide himself and his family from the clutches of Regent, his army, and the public's fresh fear of superhumans. Jeff, Madison, and Sam kick of the new year by going back in time to the beginning of one of Sam's favorite sagas in comics: Geoff Johns' Green Lantern! We received a request for an episode on the Blackest Night event that turned the DC universe upside-down and liked the idea so much that we decided to throw in a bonus episode to dip our toes into the vast saga that follows Hal Jordan from life to death, back to life, and up against death itself all over again!
This episode focuses on Green Lantern: Rebirth (not to be confused with the 2016 event of the same name), originally published in 2004, which brings the most iconic space cop back to the center stage after years of repenting for his villainous ways, all while setting up the dominos that eventually fall during the Blackest Night. This story by Geoff Johns, with art by Ethan Van Sciver, is the perfect jumping off point for those looking to dive into the world(s) of the Green Lantern Corps!
