Salutations, specters and spectresses and welcome to the beginning of the annual ATT Spooktober Spectacular. You know what they say, “You can’t keep a good ghoul down”. This year, we begin our eerie event with a trip to the land of baleful banshees and dour dullahans, Ireland. Built upon what may have been an ancient druid ceremonial site, is a castle with a wretched reputation. Tales point to the horrid history of violence and superior amount of suffering that took place within the dark rooms and of this frightening fortress as to why it has earned the title of “World’s Most Haunted Castle”. A place where murder and torture were a matter of course for the cruel O’Carrol clan. This case file, join the Fearists as they fumble through tales of fratricide, dinners to die for, and supernatural summonings with the stony walls of...Leap Castle

Alien Theorists Theorizing - Case File 194-The Waverly Hills Sanatorium
play

06/25/21 • 75 min

Tuberculosis, also known as the Great White Plague, had killed one in seven people that had ever lived by the early 19th century. A disease that was once thought to be genetic, it became a scourge that would rise to a peak in places like Europe where it would account for 25% of all deaths. Before modern medicine produced a vaccine, there were very few options for those who would display symptoms of the wasting disease. The most humane treatment was to sequester a patient to one of the many sanitoriums that had been built in the early 20th century. Among these was a facility opened in Louisville, Kentucky to accommodate victims of the sudden outbreak of tuberculosis in the Jefferson County area. The building, originally built to house 50-60 patients, was eventually renovated and expanded to be able to handle up to 400 patients. Patients who suffered from the ravages of the disease and sometimes were subjected to barbaric experimental treatments. The sanitorium, long since abandoned, now is known as “one of the most haunted places in the world.” This case file, join the Theorists as they assess the apparition coalition that seems beyond superstition but isn’t above suspicion in...The Waverly Hills Sanatorium

Built into the traditions of the elite U.S. east coast universities, are a collection of student led societies for the most accomplished of senior classmen. The organizations are renowned for their rosters of leadership and alumni who have held influential positions post graduation. They have been such an integral part of the fabric of the Ivy League schools that even characters from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gastby are implied to have belonged to them, so as to emphasize their success. One of the most exclusive of the societies boasts an impressive amount of members who went on to powerful posts within the CIA, positions on The Supreme Court, and even a number of U.S. Presidents. This case file, join the Theorists as they crack open the Tomb and crack a few inside room 322 with...Skull and Bones

The Mojave Desert is no stranger to high strangeness. A number of qualities lend the area no small amount of mystique to both the casual observer and the seasoned scientist. One of its most famous denizens is the Joshua Tree, an iconic plant species native only to that specific region of the world. The area of Kelso Dune Field is known for its “singing dunes’ which produce an eerie sound at 105 decibels. The wide open vistas and rugged landscapes which are often said to provoke a sensation of both spiritual wholeness as well as supreme isolation have drawn visitors and residents to the high desert for decades. But it's not just the natural oddities that are a draw to the remote communities of the Mojave. Set in San Bernardino county is a large white domed structure that could easily be misidentified as a UFO. The impressive building is not a planetarium or an observatory but it was allegedly built with the idea of becoming a mechanism in which a human could extend their average lifespans on principles handed down from extraterrestrial visitors. This case file, join the Theorists as they drop in on the long lost cousin of the Randomotron known as...The Integratron

Alien Theorists Theorizing - The Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter | Case File 277
play

05/22/23 • 79 min

On a warm August night in 1955 an unsuspecting family found themselves thrust into a confrontation with the inexplicable. In a rural town nestled within the heartland of Kentucky, on that fateful evening, as the sun sank beneath the horizon, the Barker clan sought refuge within the confines of their humble farmhouse. What began as a tranquil gathering of family and friends soon descended into a surreal nightmare, defying the boundaries of the rational world they once knew. As the clock struck midnight, the Barker family's peace was shattered by a series of eerie, metallic sounds echoing through the countryside. Emerging from the shadows of the surrounding woods were otherworldly creatures—aliens, in all their grotesque glory. Their silver bodies glistened under the faint moonlight, their eyes burning like fiery orbs. What ensued that night was a harrowing clash between humans and the extraterrestrial, as bullets ricocheted off their strange metallic skins, and the Barker family, gripped by terror, fought tooth and nail against these unearthly intruders. This case file, join the Theorists as they go out guns a blazin’ while discussing...The Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter

Welcome all my wicked witches and warlocks to the ATT Spooktober Spectacular. I do hope you’re prepared to have a spell of a good time. While Pennsylvania may rate lower on the spook-o-meter than other more infamous Vanias, it possesses a certain chilling charm all its own. Since the earliest days of the Keystone State, settlers have dabbled all across the spectrum of magic spells. Old World beliefs and Christian mythos swirled together inside a bubbling cauldron to conjure up regional flavor folk magic. Concern over curses and ritual remedies had a place in the Pennsylvania Dutch communities for centuries. If fate took an unexpected or unfortunate turn it was always considered a possibility that a curse was the cause. This was certainly the case in 1928 when three men were dead set on freeing themselves from the influence of a suspected sorcerer. This case file, join the Fearists as they huff a little hocus-pocus and crack a few cantrips while conjuring up the tale of...The Hex House Murder
