Nwando Achebe is the Jack and Margaret Sweet Endowed Professor of History at Michigan State University, the founding editor of the Journal of West African History, and the author of numerous works, including the award-winning 2011 book The Female King of Colonial Nigeria: Ahebi Ugbabe.
