36. Reality T.V. & Celebrities - What is the fascination?
Steven Berkowitz has a long list of accomplishments in the entertainment industry. He is a “seasoned showrunner, development executive, storyteller and interviewer” with significant contributions to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, The Rachel Zoe Project and many other notable shows and networks. Steve provides his insight on why we have such a fascination with celebrities, including athletes and reality t.v. personalities. He said that reality t.v. today captures the talent and skills of people who may never have gotten the chance to shine. He also says that when someone is trying to get on reality television, they should go well beyond just “being themselves;” instead, they should be “an exaggerated version” of themselves and not fake, but “unfiltered”. Steve is working on his first documentary feature that is based on a “powerful topic”, which will be revealed after it is edited and completed, so stay tuned. Additionally, Steve has a podcast called “No Script, No Problem” where he shines the spotlight on people who make reality t.v. great.
