Angel’s Landing Cult
Addicted to Crime Podcast
03/06/22 • 60 min
Lou Castro (aka Daniel Perez, master manipulator) was a man who seemed to have this ability to draw families to him and convince them of the seemingly impossible. He would use his influence to even allegedly convince people to commit suicide under the guise that he could bring them back to life in a newer, healthier body. Let’s talk about the horrors that went on in the Angel’s Landing commune in Wichita, Kansas and see if we can backtrack Daniel Perez’s confusing early life of crime and watch it progress to cult leader turned insurance scammer and convicted murderer.

The History of Human Torture Vol. 1
Addicted to Crime Podcast
06/16/22 • 38 min
Humans have been torturing and punishing other humans since the beginning of time, and I find that fascinating ...and extremely disturbing. Let's talk about 10 torture methods today. I dive into water torture, the heretics fork, and the pear of anguish just to name a few. So strap on, some of these are a doozy. I am going to be back next month for the next historical mini to continue this discussion and talk about 10 more historical torture methods.
I include a disclaimer in this , but I will say it again, this episode is not for the squeamish. Take a break this time and I will see you back next time. But for all of you who stayed to listen, I'm sorry.

MISSING: Bradley Hansen
Addicted to Crime Podcast
11/07/22 • 40 min
November 10, 1995, 13 year old Bradley biked to his friend, Jeremy's house not knowing that this would be the last time his mother would ever see him. Through a tangled twists of lies and rumors, I feel like we find out a lot of parts of the story, but have yet to hear the entire truth. In this "no body" case, let's do the best we can to dissect the events that led to where we are now. Brad's family is still missing him and, as of 2022, he has not been found.

The Murder of Melissa Platt: Interview with Michelle Mims
Addicted to Crime Podcast
03/28/22 • 57 min
Melissa Sue Platt was a bright shining soul in her family’s life. Her and her sister, Michelle, were two peas in a pod, and basically twins. Until one day, their mom tried to get ahold of Melissa, and couldn’t. Finally, Melissa’s boyfriend at the time (who had a long history of domestic abuse) cut her family off completely and unplugged the answering machine. A welfare check on Melissa, turned into a gruesome rescue when officers found her alone, bruised, bleeding with a broken jaw and unresponsive. She was naked, wrapped in a blanket and had been there between 6-11 days. The explanation? She “fell in the bathroom,” then “she fell on the porch outside.” Neither one made sense, however, no charges had ever been filed. But the tides may be turning in the family’s favor, as after over a decade of hard work and endurance, they’re finally close to getting answers and getting justice for Melissa.
(FYI Don't forget to listen to *Episode 17* on Melissa's case for the complete background before listening to this episode)
I'm very thankful to Michelle for coming on and bravely sharing her sister's story. Listeners, please considering following her social medias to stay up to date with the case & please consider giving to support the family.
Thanks for the support, and stay safe.

The Murder of Karen Bodine: An Interview with Karlee Bodine
Addicted to Crime Podcast
01/21/22 • 35 min
Karen Bodine was discovered dead alongside the road on January 22, 2007, in the morning next to a rock quarry in Rochester, Washington. It's been 15 years and the Thurston County police still haven't named a person of interest, and (what makes it more aggravating for the Bodine family) they have the DNA samples of 3 separate individuals in their possession but haven't tested it yet! Karen was an amazing daughter and mother, and her story seems to have been glossed over or downright skipped all together because of how she spent the last two days of her life, through no fault of her own. Karen deserves justice, and her daughter Karlee Bodine, joins me for an interview talking about her mother, evidence found at the scene and where she is going from here. Karlee can't be stopped, and won't stop until she finds her mother's killer(s). Join us for this interview, and please share this episode and these sights to help Karen's case get more awareness.

Come on this wild ride with me as we dissect the 'Bible John' murders.
