EP 29: Spirit Ganja Healing With Lyn Pacificar

ACE LAB Presents: Higher Learning The Podcast

play

04/03/19 • 56 min

🇵🇭Our cultural identity shapes some of the most important parts of who we are. It gives us a sense of belonging and a sense of self. On this episode, we are joined by special guest, Lyn Pacificar founder of Herbalaria, an ancestral roots movement company connecting the community to indigenous traditions through the art of Filipino plant medicine. Listen as she drops some serious knowledge on the shamanic traditions that have been demonized by colonialism, what it means to reclaim your culture, and how she integrates the power of Cannabis into her practice as a spiritual healer. So roll one, smoke one, and get your culture on as we take you back to our roots.

👁ABOUT OUR GUEST

Lyn Pacificar is an “albularya” (Herb Doctor) a descendant from a long line of Filipino healers and spiritualists from her dad's side of the family. An albularya (or arbolaryo) is a traditional folk herbalist and spiritual healer who uses a combination of modalities including prayers, ritual, diagnostic readings, smudging, ancestral communication, and mediumship to achieve a certain goal for the recipient. Growing up, Lyn was exposed to all of this from her father as he was referred to as a “manghihilot,” a traditional healer using different methods of prayer, massage, special oils, and energy work. At a young age, she was introduced to the different types of oils and balms from her father that he brought back with him from the Philippines. These bottles were prepared in ritual, with each ingredient carefully added and she felt such a strong connection to the medicine, which is very much a part of her own healing practice today and the foundation for Herbalaria.

🌿420 QUICK TIPS

START SMALL. Get a sense of the potency of the batch of cannabis you are going to ingest. Start with small doses aka microdose.

CHECK YO SELF. Cannabis can cause a drop in blood sugar levels. Some symptoms of low blood sugar are sweating, shaking, anxiety, and pounding heart. So make sure you have eaten recently before using weed to avoid these effects.

USE CAUTION. Do not use cannabis if you are at risk for, have a family history of, or if you personally have experienced schizophrenia.

EP 26: How To Calm Yo Ass with CBD

ACE LAB Presents: Higher Learning The Podcast

play

03/12/19 • 38 min

😶According to the National Institute of Mental Health, anxiety disorders affect a huge segment of our population every year. About 40 million adults (18%) in the U.S. age 18 and older have some type of anxiety On this episode, we open up about what it's like to suffer from anxiety, how we're dealing with it, and how Cannabidiol (CBD) works for treating it. Take a big hit, hold, and exhale as we explore ways to calm yo ass with CBD.

🗒THINGS TO REMEMBER

  1. Look at the grand scheme of things.
  2. Don’t focus so much on your anxiety.
  3. Remember there will be a tomorrow.
  4. If you feel doomed, that is anxiety talking to you.
  5. Face your anxiety head-on.

🧘🏻‍♀️THE A.W.A.R.E. TECHNIQUE

The AWARE method will teach you how to accept your panic attack symptoms, how to be patient during it, and how to behave when you have one.

  • Accept the anxiety. Don’t try to fight it, because it will not take away the anxiety.
  • Watch the anxiety. Tell yourself which changes in your body and perception you notice and try to look at yourself as if you are an observer of yourself.
  • Act normal. Breath normal and remain calm. Don’t try to escape because that will make you experience your symptoms even more intense. Instead, stay in the situation and experience the anxiety fading away.
  • Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3. If the anxiety is not reduced to an acceptable level yet, then repeat the steps. You’ll see that you’ll calm down soon.
  • Expect the best. Practice makes perfect, so practice a lot. Don’t focus on what may happen to you, because that chance is really small.
