About Time for True Crime
It’s about time you heard a true crime podcast from two educated women in the field. Each holding degrees in criminal justice and certification for recovery support, Allie and Abby are currently working in the criminal justice system. These two young, excited and educated women set out to share with you true crime stories, from old and current, small town and national headlines, while also sharing personal experience as it relates. We invite you to hang out with us as we dig into these crimes, criminal justice theory, psychology & sociology, discuss mental health and substance use, the legal proceedings around these kinds of cases, and everything in between - while offering some much-needed humor. On Christmas Eve 1945, the Sodder family residence was reduced to debris after a fire burned it to the ground. George and Jennie Sodder woke just after 1:30am Christmas morning to the smell of smoke, and called to the children to get out of the home immediately. Of the couple’s 10 children, 5 were still missing when the flames were put out. The disappearance of the Sodder children is a case that is still unsolved today. Over the years, several theories have emerged, including that the children perished in the fire, were stolen and sold on the black market, and more.

In December 2004, Bobbie Jo Stinnett was a 23-year-old wife and mother-to-be. She and her husband Zeb were expecting to welcome a beautiful baby girl, but just a month before her due date, Bobbie Jo was murdered, and her unborn baby was stolen from her womb. Conversely, Lisa Montgomery had a tragic upbringing, and adult life. After surgery that would prevent her from getting pregnant again, she strangely wound up cradling a newborn infant the day after Bobbie Jo’s murder.
