Hi! Jamie Wind Whitmarsh here!
In this episode I get to meet Dr. Jeremy Brunk, Assistant Professor of Percussion at Millikin University. Through our discussions I learned that for a year during his Master's at OU, he occupied the timpani spot that I currently have with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. He also alters the course of my podcast forever when he catches me on my 'gotcha' question. Unfortunately at times the internet connection over Zoom gets a little funky, and he sounds a bit more robotic - but we had such a great conversation that I think you'll enjoy this episode.
The music is my live performance of the Prelude from J.S. Bach's Cello Suite no. IV in E-flat Major.

Hi! Jamie Wind Whitmarsh here!
In this episode I get to talk with Andy Harnsberger, Associate Professor of Music and Percussion Coordinator at Lee University. I've known Andy for several years, and usually get to hang at PASIC. This was enjoyable to get to sit down and talk more in-depth about some things. We get kinda existential in this one. Check it out!

The music is my live performance of Hymnus 2 by Joshua William Mills. http://www.joshmillsmusic.net/index.html

Hi! Jamie Wind Whitmarsh here!
In this episode I get to talk with Brian Nozny, Assistant Professor of Musicand Director of Percussion Studies at McNeese State University.
Brian is a composer and percussionist, and you can hear a lot of his works here:

The music in this episode is from a video game called 'Plexarium', which I quite enjoyed scoring! This game was created solely by Daniel Parrott, and you can hear some of the other tracks here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8IG8tjsxSy3XmLbGP46I32d3nP5GKryV

Hi! Jamie Wind Whitmarsh here! This episode is is pretty exciting, as I get to start my series of guest interviews with Dr. Tommy Dobbs, Assistant Professor of Percussion at University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Tommy and I have been best friends for a long time, after becoming roommates during our time in grad school at Florida State University. Tommy has done a lot of things, including a recent clinic at the Midwest convention - but I'm more interested in the other things we talk about!
The music is the Florida State University Percussion Ensemble performing my work 'NAILS!!!'. This recording (which I was fortunate to play steel pan on) was released on their third CD - 'Florida State University, Volume Three: 10 Windows'. Recording this was laborious, as the piece is pretty nuts, and I am infinitely grateful to the wonderful people that made this happen - Chase Banks, Sabrina Peterson, Ben Fraley, Nick Stevens, Glenda Lopez, Andrew Bockman, Catherine Cole, Justin Alexander, Tennison Watts, and John Parks.
