A Quilter's Life

Many of us remember Floyd the barber on the Andy Griffith show. Well, I got to interview Floyd the Quilter! Turning Memories Into Heirlooms is Floyd Bullock’s theme as he creates quilts for his customers. I’m impressed by his attention to the details he collects before starting on a quilt so that his customers can receive the product they desire.

undefined - Jamie Arnall

Jamie Arnall

When life hands you scraps, make a quilt! This is what Jamie Arnall shared with me. And that’s exactly what she did with her life. She has such a wonderful attitude! You can hear the excitement and warmth in our conversation.

This first quilt is a simple quilt that Jame did with a shop hop group. She designed it and loves it because she loves the shops she worked with on it. And then her dad laid claim on it so it reminds her of her dad. He loves old trucks. Jamie used the square on square trim tool to do this second quilt.

Jamie's website is My Heavenly Notions

Or you can follow her on FaceBook Heavenly Notions

Or Instagram heavenly_notions

I also want to thank Shea & Michelle Watson of The Pantry Podcast for connecting me with Jamie.

Beth Minnick

Beth Minnick is such an encourager! She tells about encouraging youth, but she also was very encouraging to me as we did this interview. She can find the beauty in projects that others would overlook. I loved her statement: The less you have the more creative you have to be.

The first quilt is Beth's 25 years in the making Lone Star. There are pictures of the back as well to show the different color of the quilting her mom used.

The second quilt is the one that people didn't like. Beth still loves it and love the colors.

The third quilt is the first quilt Beth made for herself and kept. Beth said the olive green looks so green in these pictures and it really doesn't stick out like a sore thumb! Lol

These last pictures are of the project Beth is working on now. The quilt that her mother started.
