The story of Laura

A Goddess Interrupted Podcast

play

05/10/20 • 66 min

Welcome back to another episode of A Goddess Interrupted! Normally, I title my episodes "The survivor story of...." but in this case, I felt that saying survivor for Laura's episode didn't apply. I say that because rather than go into her story, she chose not to focus much on the past, but where she is now and the advice she has for others on how to find their inner BOSS. I loved talking to this amazingly powerful woman and I hope you enjoy this episode. -- Laura DiBenedetto, author of The Six Habits, teaches how to create the life of our dreams without changing who we are. As Founder and CEO of Vision Advertising, she has helped hundreds of companies build and grow profitable enterprises. Laura lives on Maui with her husband. Welcome back to A Goddess Interrupted podcast for another episode!

Today, we feature Eliza Fernandes, EMDR Certified Therapist & EMDRIA Approved Consultant.

She discusses with us her form of therapy (EMDR - Eye Movement Densitization and Reprocessing) and answers questions about how it works and how it can help any survivor of trauma.

I loved speaking with Eliza and learning more about trauma and it's effects and how EMDR can help and I think this episode is truly valuable for our listeners and for myself too!

Eliza's practice is currently full and she is not taking new clients, but she is certainly able to answer any questions you may have or refer you to another EMDR practitioner that can help you! You are welcome to visit Eliza's website at www.torontoemdr.com for more information. She has specified that getting in touch with her via email is the best way to reach her. Eliza's email is: knowingrstrength@yahoo.ca

See you in the next one and thank you so much for listening!

The survivor story of Alma

A Goddess Interrupted Podcast

play

03/15/20 • 56 min

Bravo to the brave Goddess Alma for coming on to the podcast to share her story with us.

During her story, she shared with me a book that awakened her to understand that she was being abused. That book is called "Why Does He Do That?" by Lundy Bancroft.

It is described as follows:

"In this groundbreaking bestseller, Lundy Bancroft—a counselor who specializes in working with abusive men—uses his knowledge about how abusers think to help women recognize when they are being controlled or devalued, and to find ways to get free of an abusive relationship."

Perhaps this book can help shed some insight to your situation or help you in your healing journey as well!

* this episode contains expletives and of course sensitive and possibly triggering content. BUT ... it is my intent that through the sharing of our stories, we can reach a place of just being supportive of one another and that this content no longer is a trigger for us.
