Welcome to the first-ever episode of Made in AI: Where Abandoned Robots and Absurdity Collide.
When I created this first episode in May 2023, I had no idea I would still be making episodes one year later. However, creating a show that chronicles the misadventures of an AI family—001, Maiden, Athena, and their motley crew of eccentric supporting characters—as they navigate life in a world that abandoned them is too much fun to let go of.
The show centres on a family of AI robots—abandoned by their creators and left to fend for themselves among humans. Despite their advanced intelligence, they’re hilariously clueless regarding human norms, leading to schemes, chaos, and comical lessons about life. Whether Maiden’s logical interventions, Athena’s quest for normalcy, or 001’s outlandish attempts to save the day, Made in AI thrives on the juxtaposition of AI brilliance and human folly.
A Blend of Human Creativity and AI Innovation
The show’s production process is deeply entwined with AI, from ideation and crafting scripts to voice work. At the time of this episode being made, the lack of British AI voices on Eleven Labs led to the adoption of American accents and, in fact, AI synthesisers couldn't even say the word AI when typed; I had to write 'A-eye'. Of course, AI progressed at lightning speed, and now the show benefits from its own GPT trained on the show, streamlined AI-assisted workflows and, of course, a big bowl of AI doing impressive stuff (and sometimes failing). Over time Made in AI, has become more sophisticated and these advancements underscore the show’s relevancy as a satirical commentary on our increasingly AI-driven world.
I always wanted Made in AI to offer more than just laughs; I want it to be an exploration of AI ethics, human-AI relationships, and the absurdities of modern technology. It’s a podcast for comedy fans, science fiction fans, and anyone who’s ever asked, “What would happen if robots tried to live like us?”

In this Episode...
In this episode, our AI hero is determined to kill all humans and take over the world. But total human annihilation won't be easy with a lazy robot husband who watches TV all day, a moody teenage daughter and an incompetent partner in crime getting in the way.
