If you've ever listened to any of our shows before, you will know that our CEO, Victoria, is a survivor of domestic violence. She has had dozens and dozens of surgeries to correct the injuries that were put upon her by her abuser. Now she's on the other side, using her platform and her voice to help bring awareness, to try to help others so that they are alone, as she was during this horrific time in her life. We must warn you that this is not for children under the age of 18 as the details are very graphic. We hope that you will so support and share this so that we can bring awareness and we can stop the violence. #acontagioussmile #victoriacuore

Navigating the intricate labyrinth of mental health isn't a solitary journey. It's a collective responsibility, one that necessitates understanding, compassion, and an open dialogue. Today, we're joined by guests Marla Thomas, Whitney Lee, and Victoria from the Contagious Minds podcast to dissect this pressing issue. We're going deep to unravel the complexities of mental health challenges and how the police can better support individuals in crisis.
Our conversation takes us into the heart of mental health advocacy, where we dissect the barriers that still exist. We tackle the shocking reality of limited housing options for those transitioning from a 5150 or 5152 in California and the urgent need for intervention and policy changes. Marla brings a personal perspective, sharing her experiences and insights into the matter. She helps us understand the vital need for empathy, the importance of listening, and the stark necessity of acknowledging the reality that those suffering from mental illness face every day.
Finally, we discuss practical tools for safe police interactions during mental health crises and explore the importance of creating a safe environment by removing extra stimuli. This enlightening episode is a clarion call for understanding and compassion in the realm of mental health. It's about humanizing, not criminalizing, mental health challenges. It's about igniting local action and breaking down the stigmas that still persist. So, join us in this vital conversation and let's create a more inclusive and understanding world, one conversation at a time.

What if the system designed to protect you only served to revictimize and break you further? Unfortunately, too often victims of domestic abuse find themselves grappling with this grim reality, with the legal system failing them over and over. Our guest today, Dee, a survivor turned advocate, sheds light on this issue. She bravely shares her 11-year experience of being stuck in a toxic relationship and narrates her journey of healing and transformation. Dee's tale is not just about survival; it's about reclaiming life, breaking destructive cycles, and fostering self-love.
When it comes to custody battles and court corruption, Dee's story is a stark eye-opener. Imagine having to endure the emotional ordeal of a six-year-long custody strife, all while facing constant harassment and manipulation. It's a testament to the corruption within the system that profits from the pain of the victims, a system that needs to be critically examined and reformed. Dee's candid narration of her struggle is an unvarnished look at the realities many face within our legal system.
Lastly, Dee delves into the often-ignored aspect of victim-blaming in cases of domestic violence, highlighting the urgent need for change within the legal framework. We also explore the empowering realm of energy healing and self-love, and how technology is revolutionizing healthcare. Dee's powerful journey out of darkness into light is a beacon of hope for many. Her wisdom and insights are a testament to the human spirit's resilience and the capacity to heal and grow in the face of adversity.
