It's here! Every June, thousands of gamers across the globe tune into their video platform of choice to watch hours of marketing presented as some sort of capitalistic holiday. This year, with the cartel of industry leaders putting their own show to pasture, only one man could crawl out of the rubble, Mountain Dew cans, and mountains of Doritos Dust to bring gamers the marketing menagerie they crave, and his name is Geoff Keighley.

At some point with a franchise you have so many entries that you completely forgo numbers and just start adding colons and subtitles. Assassin's Creed hit that point a long time ago, to the point that they are now completely skipping numbers and just doing all of them. 1, 2, subtitles, 3, 4, subtitles, every single number ever (infinity.) Do you think there will be another one after Infinity? Or will Ubisoft change the name after the leak last year. I'm banking on Assassin's Creed: Monetization.

After a week of watching GamesDoneQuick, I've been doing nothing but playing games quickly. Neon White dropped at just the right time. The game constantly asks to be played faster and faster and, oh boy, did it grab me real hard. I've gotten an Ace on every level I've played so far and I think I might actually try to 100% the game. It's the first time I've actively sought to play, effectively, a platformer on PC. There's some tricks I've landed that I am sure I would not have been able to get if I played on Switch.
Go play Neon White. It's really good.

Oh, and here's the news.

How many different games can you name that have the same name? There's Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider, DOOM and Doom, Ratchet & Clank and Ratchet & Clank; there's a lot of these.

One year sure goes by fast when you're having fun. This show is frequently one of the most enjoyable and rewarding things I do on a weekly basis, and I'm thankful for everyone that actually tunes in to listen to my work. In this episode, we look back at the first year of this show and the last fiscal year of video games, as well as predict what the next year might have in store, too.

It was a relatively safe prediction during my One Year Special (go listen to that, by the way) but I did not expect Square Enix to pull something like this so soon after I made that prediction. The writing has been on the wall for years, but now the company has finally done it.

Do people remember LEGO Backlot? It was this really fun pseudo-sandbox adventure game hosted on the LEGO website on the earlier days of the internet. You were like a production assistant at the LEGO Studios sets making movies. It was a whole 3D adventure game all built in flash. Super fun. Go play it somewhere if you can. It probably isn't near as good as I remember it being, but still a worthwhile thing to note from the early internet.
Oh yeah, and news.
