With The Storrs Pond Classic just under a month away, we talk to TD Dan Walsh, from the LFDT and the Upper Valley Disc Golf Association. Dan tells us all about the mission and intent of the UVDGA, talks about some of the work they have already done and gives us all the info we need to make this years Storrs Pond Classic in Hanover a weekend that we'll never forget!
We also shine a little light on local disc golfer Chris Rydel. Chris plays bass in both The Burnouts and Mallory Weiss. We took a week off. In that time tournament season has ramped up and disc golfers are out in full force enjoying every bit of it. We have an extended episode this week to cover it all.
The 2019 NEADGC goes down this week at The Hollows in Manchester. A few spots are still available but time is running out! We talk to Norma Bruce from Breaking Chains Disc Golf Supplies, who gives us all the info needed to make sure a good time is had by all. Norma gives us the skinny on the tourney, some insight into this force of a woman who loves to fly fish and works tirelessly to help grow the game in so many ways. Norma also gives us the "you heard it here first" scoop on the future of the former Walter's Disc Golf Emporium in Dover!
Next, we check in with our dear friend and owner of Top O' The Hill Disc Golf Course, Marty Vaughn, who drops the info on some upcoming tournaments at TOPO along with the always fun weekly Monday Mini and Wednesday Random Dubs events happening all summer. NH DG has had an incredible few weeks! Jim Bailey has replaced Ken Bovill as Interim PDGA NH State Coordinator. We will catch up with Jim on his plans in the role. Local disc golfer Cody White is a busy dude. Between playing DG enough to earn a sponsorship from Westside Discs, volunteering his time to TD tournaments and promote the sport and giving lessons this summer out of Top O The Hill DGC in Canterbury, this kid barely has time to sleep! We talk with Cody about the exciting things happening in his world, and we also talk with Tyler and Casey, operators of Oak Ridge Disc Golf Course in Gill MA about their adventure in opening a new disc golf course! From there, Papa Chuck Veysey joins us to announce the formation of The Granite State Disc Golf Association! The GSDGA is presenting the inaugural season of The Granite State Tour, beginning with the PDGA B Tier Tooky Tourney at Northwinds DGC in Contoocook! Chuck and I run through the tour schedule, introduce the board members and fill you in on what looks to be New Hampshire's most exciting disc golf year yet!
